Hi,
I thought about putting this in the Cacti section but figured it was a bit of a noob question and perhaps was more suitable here.
I'm very intrigued by the accounts I've read from here on mescaline - how some regard it as one of their favourite entheogens due to it's smooth/gentle nature and a general relaxed pace of experience, so this appeals to me having experienced the blast off from spice, I wouldn;t mind slowing things down a bit and riding it out...
Now, from the small bit of reading I've done it would seem that, in an ideal world, I would grow my own cacti and wait rather patiently until it grew to a quantity whereby an extraction would yield respectable quantities. I'm also lead to believe that there is lots of variation in potency, and this kind og puts me off in the sense that I could spend a lot of time growing it when for all I know my efforts could be in vain. This is also complicated by an apparent lack of sources for San Pedro where I live.
I had noticed that a number of headshops sell dried san pedro, they mention boiling it up for a period of time and then drinking the resultant brew.
So my question is, if one were to purchase this dried san pedro and follow procedure, could I expect to encounter the kind of experience that is witnessed by those who do grow their own and extract from that?
Would it be possible to extract the mescaline from the dried cactus and then purify it to pure mescaline? I have read about a resin method that seems to have gained popularity - can this be done from dried cactus purchased from a store?
What kind of weights would one be looking at?
Or do I have to face the reality that if I want to experience this, I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and stay.....traditional, for lack of a better term?
Thanks for your time Nexus, always appreciated.
