drying problems.

Id like to say thanks to this place my extractions have been problem free all year.

However, I have a problem with drying my crystals so they retain their awesome shape and crystalyness.

What seems to be happening is that no matter what i do, residual solvent warms up and melts my nice crystals and leaves me with a clear goo...I know my dmt is still there, its just annoying.

No amount of fans or trying to air the jar out will dry them before the solvent has a chance to ruin everything.

I left the damn jar IN THE FREEZER upside down, just to drain all the solvent off, it still did the same thing.

any tips or hints on drying crystals?

I had that problem. It's probably N-oxide. It sucks, I had to put mine in the freezer and then powder it while it's cold, dry it on my shelf. Then drain off excess solvent. I had to repeat that like 3 times. I think you could add zinc or something to it but you'll have to look up the Tek because you'll need a few things.

Try doing a slow freeze. When your naphtha is ready to be precipitated, stick it in the fridge for a while, then put it back in room temp, back in the fridge, room temp, fridge, freezer, fridge, freezer, etc. This has worked well for me in the past and prevents solvent from getting stuck inside your crystals as they form.

Thanks guys, I usually try and do a slow freeeze, I guess it needs to be slower. My friend even suggested leaving the jar in a cabinet over night before I even start to make it cold at all
