Ohhh that looks awesome,big chunky glass shards just like you mentioned. Definitely would love to try that, unfortunately it's not an option right at the moment as I can't have strong solvent smell floating around, eventually I'll be able to just not right now, those are impressive to say the least. How much do each one weigh on average? I have considered xtal growing to see how big I can makem. Wouldn't need to evap quickly for that. I want to grab one of those and throw it in a pipe. Is those from MH or ACRB? Back when I first started extracting I took some of my pulls and didn't do a mini a/b, left it to evaporated on top of a 18" fluorescent light which wasn't hot but did help solvent evaporate quicker but did keep it warm enough to just keep it a goo. Since then haven't been able to do it again because of living situation. I will be doing that one day though! Count on it. Thanks for the pics, now I see what you mean.:thumb_up:

Also are they still pretty waxy in nature or are they more solid, they look like they would be more solid. Anyway had to put them pics in my archive!
Ive done something vety similar to what ews's talking about. They were pretty solid chunks. Easy to pick up but still waxy externally. Your yields look awesome spaced out. Im doing mini ab but it seems im only getting a gram each dish. I started a kilo batch so i would have room for error. I kept it all in one big jug when i did pulls. I now realize that was stupid. I split it into two one gallon jugs. Have not pulled fron it yet. But before all of this i maybe Got 3 gs out of my kilo. So im sure theres much more. Do you thibk splitting it two jugs will increase my yield. Any tging else i can do to increase it. ive added a bit more lye already.Spaced Out 2 said:

These little babies weigh around 30-35mg each and there dry as and there solid almost like rock salt , @tydel24 do smaller extractions I go with two bottles at the same time with 150g in each bottle , don't ask me why but you loose yield the larger ex Tek is , and yeah split it up into two batches at least .. :thumb_up:

I can't stop the goo either, if you look in between the crystals on my pics when you zoom in you can tell they are sitting in a bed of it. Not a big deal as I scrape the white fluffy ones up and put them aside and then scrape out goo and reX it. You can also see brown spots in the dish where I managed to suck up some of the fats after the mini a/b. As for yield I have found that varies greatly due to suppliers/quality of the root bark. I've had low yields and better ones like this last one, I did 350g and yielded 6.156g after doing all pulls and reXs. Not quite the 2% yield or better that everyone strives for but very happy with it indeed. I would try to do smaller ones, easier to manage in case a mistake is made. One thing I do when I initially start is I basify my powder and let it break down for couple days before even adding solvent, it sits on a heated pad that keeps it warm, when I'm ready to add solvent I heat it as well. Not sure whether the couple days of breaking down is necessary but it makes me feel better. It's hard to get all goo out especially from acrb. To me it's not a big deal. I would make several pulls from your two jugs making sure they are in 100-110 degree range while adding warm solvent. Mix it up a bunch, I mean a bunch. Combine all pulls. I use a strong acid (muriatic) on my mini a/b, at this point everything is room temp to keep majority of fats from crossing back over. It's at pH2 or lower. I shake crap out of it for long time, multiple times. Get rid of solvent layer and rebasify the acid slowly. Put in solvent while still hot from basifying, that should warm it nicely. Then do a few pulls again, freeze. Hopefully this will help. I usually take 4-5 days from start to inhale, I don't get in a hurry by any means. Awesome guys. Much appreciated. I've split the batch in 2 jugs. Will warm in heat bath and pull with warm solvent, I have to heat on the stove, makes me nervous sometimes. Lol. I'm running low on NPS. I was using Vmp. But they ran out of it. I know ronsonol is an alternative. Which I can get. But There's this stuff called mineral spirits. I believe its odorless. Ever heard of such? I live in US. I'll have yo all a pretty pic soon I hope.

I wouldn't use mineral spirits, if you absolutely have to use ronosol, it's dirty but works. Any of the major home stores carry naphtha. Or they should have some by now. Little mom and pop hardware stores will carry it as well.. try to not substitute if you don't have to, you just may not get results your looking for. Good luck and look forward to some pics!

one quick question couldnt get any ph strips would you say 2 table spoons of hcl would be well enough to acidify

In my case I'd over do it to be sure, lol. Yes to answer your question, depending on how many ml of water your using though.

I'd put 3 in to be sure, but you'll have to make extra anyway if your doing an acid cook.

if i already used 2 tablespoons will i have to use extra lye when it comes to the basing also getting ph strips tomorrow so ima just gonna let the bark soak in the hcl water till i get the ph strips

As mentioned before I don't measure things now, just because I've done it enough, as for starters you should make sure you have everything you need before you start the process. I don't do an acid boil, I do the mini a/b and when I've checked my ph it's been 2 so since then I know how much to add to my water to reach that just by sight alone. After I finish I still have my rebasified water which is then used to break down next batch. Seems to work fine.

Yeah it'll be fine I to use my eye but I use 1 cap in 500ml water to get a ph around 2.1- 2.3 so you want have to add heaps of extra lye just use about 55-60g in 2 ltr base soup should be fine :thumb_up: also digital ph meters on eBay 7.99 extra cheap and heaps accurate !!akiraxhoshizora said:

I'll be more careful with my suggestions since there are a lot of people new to extracting, which I forget sometimes. :? The meters I bought from eBay were cheap, I've been through 2 of them, so I have about 600 test strips I use now since I didn't have very good luck with the digital meters. I think the strips will last me the rest of my life, lol.
