Can I just eat the cactus raw?, after cutting off the spines, I just hold my breath and eat it raw, is it possible?.

Thanks.

Hello greenmoss,

I have to anser you in this thread because I don't have access to the original topic.

Just recently (last friday) I had again a very beautiful cacti-experience with 17g dried echinopsis panachoi extract. When harvesting the cacti, I collect just the dark green flesh which is containing the mescaline behind the waxy skin and process it to powder. No boiling or other mechanical processes, just let the dark green flesh dry and grind it up.

For consumption I put the powder into a cup with a little bit of warm water (additionally lemonjuice can be added), stir it and drink as much as possible. It works best if you keep your nose with your fingers closed and eat ginger with it. When it gets impossible to swallow more of the pulp without vomitting, I do like this:
1) close my nose with my fingers
2) take a sip of the gel-like cacti drink
3) take a sip of water and swallow the whole
4) open my nose
5) start with 1)

The taste is unbelieveable bitter and I always have to force myself to drink it, which can take up to 1hour!

Because of this harsh taste I thought of putting the powder in gelatine capsules. Swallowing like 30 capsules appears much more comfortable to me than drinking this extrem tasting pulp.

Cacti is a master of it's class and definitely worth a meeting! ;)

I've drank the powder this way as well.... Drinking the tea is way easier for me and feels less intense on my body - powder was a lot more work for me!

Capsules would taste better but a lot of them at once can upset your stomach in my experience....

I've drank a lot of San Pedro though, so the taste doesnt bother me so much anymore - its just a little bitter.... Drink it quick and chase with something sweet and its over fast!
