ether for mesc extracts?

Migrated topic.
i cant say for sure that ether will work...but benzene and toulene are acceptable solutins...i cant imagine ether not working....but i also cant imagine the folks here not knowing...anybody else ever try this?

Mescaline is poorly soluble in ether (Merck index). Better solvents are methanol, ethanol, water, toluene, or even d-limonene. It depends on the procedure: if you are extracting with a soxhlet, making a tea, it varies.

According to Merck index:

Freebase: Moderately sol in water; sol in alcohol, chloroform, benzene. Practically insol in ether, petr ether.
HCl: Sol in water, alcohol.

The only form that appears to be soluble in ether is N-Benzoylmescaline.
