Evapping twice in amor fati's non toxic tek

Let me ask you all this- in amor fati's non-toxic tek he salts the DMT to FASW, but then he evaporates the water, redissolves the resulting DMT fumarate, and then decants it and evaporates again. I fail to see how its necessary to evap twice. Can I not just filter the initial DMT fumarate water and go straight ahead to evapping that? Why must it be redissolved? DMT fumarate is already dissolved in the water anyway, so why not just get rid of the sediments right away and skip the extra evap?

I may be mistaken, but I believe that it removes excess fumaric acid, which is more water soluble than dmt-fumarate.
