Experiences with caapi 4x

Hi,

I have just finished an harmalas extraction on 250g of caapi 4x and I have to say that it is a total failure, in the end I wasn't able to recover anything and I wonder
if other have had success extracting and/or making a tea with these caapi. If yes, how well did it work ?

I've heard several people having trouble extracting it but having success ingesting it orally. They add some kind of chemical (forgot which) to the extract to conserve it, or something of the sort, I think it was dreamer that had emailed them, maybe this is responsible for problems with precipitation of alkaloids

I have some of this extract to run some TLC (and maybe gc ms), but only in september because analysis is closed for august.

How did you do your extraction?

I’m guessing that no boiling would be necessary – just add warm water and some vinegar, allow to settle, then decant. Repeat a few times.

Take decanted liquid and boil to reduce (if reduction is even necessary), then basify with NaOH. If the product is legitimate, you should get lots of precipitation at this stage.

The caapi 4:1 from Forest rx apparently has maltodextrin in it "to preserve alkaloids" this seems to be the issue here. A few people have been working on extractions and have had limited success, hopefully they will chime in with their experiences. I tried an extraction and failed so I have taken to just brewing it up. My method is to boil it in an excessive amount of water for 1 hour 3 times over, filtering through a t-shirt, then combining and reducing the excessive amount of liquid from all 3 boils. This does work, the product is active, but because of the maltodextrin it is very difficult to perform an extraction on.

How did you do your extraction?

I did 3x3h boils with 5l deionized water + fumaric acid, decanted, reduced to 850ml and basified with NaOH, there wasn't much precipitation.

As 42 has pointed out, the forestrx 4:1 and normal caapi has maltodextrin in it. This is what causes the extractions to fail.

I ate 15g, just spooned it into my mouth and ate it with a bowl of chili, and had a lovely evening. Definitely felt like over 50g normal caapi brew.

Since then I've just been eating capsules here and there. I don't notice a hint of unease with ingesting it this way.

One thing I've noticed about this stuff is that after you base it, it takes at least a couple of days for the precipitate to settle. The longer you let the solution sit, the more will accumulate at the bottom.

Decant the basic water off the top and redissolve the precipitate in some fresh vinegar and filter. When you base again it seems to resemble a regular caapi extraction.

If you don't let it sit long enough after that first basing, fuhgetaboutit...

Try basing it with NaOH and let it sit for a few more days. There should be something that falls to the bottom. It just takes awhile for it to settle.

I need to do some more experiments with this and when I do, I'll make sure to document everything.

My previous post was referring to some final pulls so it's not really etched in stone that it works properly yet. After I based the solution, I let it sit for over a week and the top solution became mostly clear. I decanted, re-acidified and filtered. There was a lot of gunk and gelatinous matter in the filter but the filtered solution looked pretty good.

Since it was the final pulls, I knew there wasn't going to be much yield there, so I just put that solution with a rue extraction I was finishing up.

I'd be interested to see how it turns out for others until I get a chance to do some more experiments.

I've also eaten 15g this morning and it's incredibly light on the stomach, since I'm quite prone to nausea I was expecting to purge very fast but it didn't happen, it's really
great we don't need to boil it! I will order a "cap m quick" 000 capsule filler and use it that way

I just tried 16g of the 4x in a fruit smoothie and its a highly recommended way to ingest the powder.

No cooking, just weighed my caapi, and added some apple juice, fresh homegrown raspberries, some lemon with a bit of rind, half of a pear, and a handful of grapes. IT came out much better tasting then i thought it would, a fruity lemony taste with an aya overtone. I was able to drink it all comfortably in approx 10 min. No nausea or stomach discomfort noted, and this feels stronger than a brew for some reason. However i feel it will take longer to fully come on due to it needing to digest. Also, slightly gritty, but not a big deal for me.

Same here, didn't try to extract it as it is already extract, it's no wood, I just cap it and drink those down.

I've read on here previously about a few folks blending caapi into a smoothie with banana, cashews, maple syrup, and vanilla. (I believe credit for this recipe originally goes to ms manic minxx, correct me if I'm wrong?)

Ive made a few brews of this and although i could feel the effects of the caapi alone noone including me has had sucess with combining it with mimosa.

I have not tried to ingest the powder itself but is it possible i have to to get the maoi effect?

My friend and i will try with 25grams on friday but is it possible less could work if i just eat the powder?

Everytime i prepared it i boiled it with citric water for 3x3hours.

I think taking the powder straight is the most effective. Like SHroomtroll, I've been able to get caapi effects from a brew, but never as strong as it should be and nowhere near as strong as taking the powder straight has been.

Brewing it can definitely orally activate DMT. SWIM brewed 15 grams and then took 45mg of DMT-fumarate, and the DMT kicked in. The ayahuasca aspect just didn't compare to taking 15 grams of the powder straight.

I'm trying a smoothie made of frozen strawberries, yoghurt and a little lemon juice with 15g of the powder. It's working very nicely, but a banana would have helped with the texture a bit.

oh god how in the hell do you and minxx do that lol..every time we drink I watch her mix the caapi into a cup of almond milk..otherwise she gets sick and cant drink it..I cant mix the caapi with anything though or it will make my stomach have indigestion after I drink. I can drink juice and eat some fruit like 30 minutes later but I cant possibly take anything else with the brew..I have to drink it straight. Weird how different people will react in different ways.

Really? For a long time I thought Minxx was immortal and could drink any amount of anything without getting sick, especially caapi.
