which tek(s) has your Brazilian gerbil done and what were your pet's experience and/or results? Edit: Oops i guess multiple answers don't work.

[quote:bd55cbd530="africanjuju"]Noman's tek is the way to go. I get smokeable spice with great yields in 25 hours. A few re-xtals and the spice is perfect[/quote:bd55cbd530] What other teks have you tried? And what's the worst you've used?

[quote:ad36bb77ae="Noman"]They are basically - just a few different specifics. The lazyman tek is unique in that the bark isn't ground first.[/quote:ad36bb77ae] That's lazy :p

[quote:77fb8feac0="angryanus"]does anyones lip/mouth go numb or have a burning sensation when smoking dmt?[/quote:77fb8feac0] my friend has only smoked it once and he didnt get such a feeling. he has heard of people getting that feeling and blaming it on lye though.

SWIM's tongue felt a little bit burnt once but after purifying the spice more it didn't burn anymore. I think it's lye. A very little amount of lye can burn. Especially in your mouth where it's very sensitive.

[quote:0b9aa3526a]does anyones lip/mouth go numb or have a burning sensation when smoking dmt?[/quote:0b9aa3526a] Off topic but can't resist... This have nothing to do with lye. It is basically a smoking technique issue. My friend felt several times that burning feeling. But it does not last and there is no injuries (which would not be the case if it would be caused by lye). It is done by a too 'heavy' smoke coming on lips or tongue. Find the good air stream rate by closing more or less the air input hole and avoid the smoke stream to be too close from the tongue. It might be also that the pipe is too small so the smoke is too dense.

I would be interested in knowing whether the people who experienced burning of the tongue, etc., had done the ammonia wash, as this is supposed to remove the lye. -z

I always use marsofold's tek to pull the spice, then do a few pulls with toluene to get the red alkaloid. I do like the simplicity of noman's tek though... less opportunities to mess up. It's perfect for beginners. Also, I'm going to use noman's tek on about 10lbs of spent bark I have saved up... I'm thinking I could pull another gram or so since the lye will wring out any spice that mars's tek left behind.

apart from the lazy tek where you go straight to basibying without doing the acid phase, they are all pretty much variations of the same tek.I do the lazyman's tek exept I grind my rootbark fisst
