Eyeballing mimosahuasca/ayahuasca ingredients?

Migrated topic.

I'm fairly sure the tribes that made ayahuasca didn't use scales.

and I'm against eyeballing most drugs, but eyeballing aya, seems easy, as its a few grams.
If I were going to use 7-9 grams of mimosa and around 3 of rue, could I eyeball each?
I'm getting a scale soon, but wouldn't like to wait for it, and even when I do I'd like to be able to know I don't have to use it. This way if I decide I'm going on a camping trip with friends and cooking it over a fire I wouldn't have to bring a scale.

anyone have pics of what 8 grams or so of mimosa would look like?
same for rue?
Would this be dangerous?
Could I base it on volume rather than weight?

If anyone could do me a favor, could you powder some mimosa and put it in a measuring cup and tell me the average volume per gram, or the volume of around 8 grams?
I know it wouldn't be exact, but from what I know you're supposed to change the amount anyway, and I'm sure the tribes had a way of eyeballing their aya.
Thanks.

I wouldnt be eyeballing mimosa or rue...both are active at low doses and if you over shoot with them you might be in for more than you signed up for..just be careful..

I'm fairly sure you are correct in that statement. I am positive however that the indigenous tribes that partake dont need scales as the methods and techniques of brewing have been passed down through the millenium by shamen, consumed by people who have experience enough to deal with the doses prepared for them by the shaman.

I'm not sure what your experience level is but IMHO you probably should not be brewing up any unknown ammount to consume yourself or to serve to others. Its one thing to do that to yourself, its another to do it to people who trust you. I dont mean just serving it to others but also puting other people in a situation where you are in a bad way cause you eyeballed something and took too much.

What your suggesting may not be a good idea.

Hmm.
Do you guys think you could measure by volume rather than weight?
Mimosa differs in its potency and such, so I don't think it'd really change it too much.

Does anyone know the density of powdered mimosa?
or how much volume wise I should add rather than weight wise, for example by using a measuring cup?

cant you just go to a friends house and weight the materials there? I dont have a scale either right now..but i make sure to go use my friends to measure out caapi and mimosa for future brews..
