Feng Shui and Artifacts for trip preparation

Migrated topic.

Curiouser and curiouser
I was wondering how many people build a "set" to facilitate their trips and what things they do?

What I mean by this is that before preparing for a trip, do you put items of special significance out? Do you add odd decorations or things to play with? I've had friends get this wierd squishy toy foam or set out some decorative peice in the center of the room as a focal point for the trip like a sacred object. I for one like to set up blacklights or mulitcoloer lights and play my guitar (cliche I know, but it's fun). I've also rearranged my furniture in creative ways just to try and influence the trip.

I was wondering what my fellow Nexians do to inspire a fun trip.

I did something like this once, the first time i lemon tekked 7gs of mushrooms. the thing was though it wasn't really a conscious decision, as the powdered fungi were soaking my body simply acted, no forethought. I made my bed but instead of on my bed, directly on the center of my floor, i lit tea candles all over my room, i turned on the blacklights. i drank the lemon juice, and then i stretched every part of my body, tensed every muscle as much as i could, just completely physically broke myself, before collapsing into dmt-esque hyperspace for 3 hours.

At that point i had never soloo tripped, i had never "prepared" a trip room, i had never practiced yoga or any sort of physical discipline, i had never even thought about or looked into any of it as a means of enhancing a trip. My mind simply turned off (EVEN prior to ingesting the mushrooms!) and began running on some strange ceremonial auto-pilot. And i knew EXACTLY what to do! it was all perfect! that trip was THE most beautiful, euphoric, amazing, awe-inspiring, perfect spiritual experience i have ever had.

Yesterday me and 3 friends smoked a small amounts of dmt in a joint, just as a first time for 2 of them.

A member of the group, layed out 6 merkabah crystals in front of us on the table also with a small statue of the Buddha.

It became a focal point of the room when tripping and added a positive loving vibe to the trip.

so I do think ones environment is important but I believe that what is more important is ones mind set, people around them and ones emotional state at the time.

Peace

Recently, I created my own Native American Medicine Wheel. Since I had very limited materials to use, I ended up painting some smooth stones I found along a gravel alley nearby. Turned out to be very helpful in channeling or releasing certain energies.

I also sometimes use a figure of my totem, the otter, as another piece during meditation or trip sessions.

Burning a candle, sage, or incense is also nice. Depends on your fancy.

Absolutely!

--Within reach (I usually go to hyperspace in my sleeping bag-er, I mean hyperspaceship) I have:

•A laser (if you own a laser - you really shouldn't trip without it IMO)
•a flashlight
•bong (I love weed - but even more for the come-backs)
•several issues of High Fructose magazine (modern art)
•any mandalas I'd like to peer into from wierdsville
•anything meaningful and small that I may have though about, created or collected in the last week or 2

--On the walls I have:

•art I've done
•art others have done
•pictures of my Guru and others who have helped me on my path

--On my altar (in my trip cave) I have:

•candles
•crystal orbs
•flowers
•a lingum
•beads

---Pets

•I can't stress enough how much my cat can calm me and make my trips better. Of course I can't MAKE him hang out, but he often does and when he does, there is more positivity and love in my trips. (He has his own couch and pad in the cave)

---TV

•I'm no fan of television, but as I'm waiting for the comeup (non-dmt trips, lol). I'll often put on a movie that's odd. Peter Sellers films seems to top the list. Once the trip comes up though I turn it off. It is really more just to judge how much I'm feelin'it as it come on.

Ever since I've confined my tripping to my trip cave and spent the time to really maximize my setting - majorly difficult trips have gone by the wayside (knock on mimosa wood). That's not to say I don't have some difficult trips here and there, but their intensity seems to have been curtailed by some simple setting prep.

I'm thinking of making a 3'x 4' poster for one wall that's black and white and simply says in block black text: "Relax, you asked for this." I figure that should cover all states of mind.

If I can find it, I keep a small plastic LED ball handy (I think it's for a fish tank), and of course music is always prepared unless I'm smoking DMT.
