Few questions regarding the dmt handbook tek

Just going over and over and over the tek before i begin.

First of all the tek says 2kg of bark, i want to use 500g.
So i just divide everything by 4 right?
Lye, acid, shellite, water.
And also do i need to acid cook for the same amount of time as 2kg?


Secondly, with the basifying solution. I was wondering how much water to use? It says 200 grams of lye so i presume i will use 50 grams, however it doesnt state how much water to add to it, just says add this to some water and allow it all to disolve, so i presume i just need enough water until it all disolves?

Just make sure all the lye is disolved nicely.

As for your acid boils do them as long as possible on the lowest heat and keep repeat boiling until the water starts to come clear, then reduce the collective boils.

There's nothing worse than getting to the end of an extraction and realising you have a tiny yield because you didn't simmer the goods enough.

And yes everything/4. But I don't follow quantities as much as I follow my eyes. Like when you basify the collective acid cooks you see the solution turn from red to grey to black

But coschi mentions a hard boil doesn't seem to effect yield.. ?
