First Phalaris Extraction with Naptha

The main question of this thread is will this work
to any degree?

Collect phalaris grass. (must point out that the grass
Is all very young)

Put it in the freezer fresh. Take it out and let it thaw
Chop it up with scizzors (maybe grinder) and freeze
It again. Let it thaw out.

Place the resulting crude matierial into pot.
Add enough water to turn it into a soupy mixture

Add Vinegar to help get the alkaloids out. (Get ph to 5)
Vinegar contains acetic acid. The DMT
Will be in salt form after boiling.

Strain the Plant Matierial
You can now discard the completely
Strained bulk ruffage

Now all the alkaloids are in the aqueous
Solution

Add a small percentage of a defatting solvent, Naptha (roughly 10 percent of total) . The reason to do this procedure is to remove the oils and fats which are in the solution - they will migrate into the solvent . Shake up the mixture and put it aside long enough to seperate into two layers, one aqueous, the other solvent. ***make sure to seal the solution****

After the 2 layers have sat out long enough to seperate put the solution in the freezer
The water will freeze leaving the naptha in liquid form. The Naptha will be at the top
Of the container. Simply pour off the naptha.

Next we need to basify the solution to put it into freebase form (Smokeable)
Add baking Soda slowly until it stops reacting with the solution. When it is
Done its time to add more Naptha for better purification.

Add Naptha equal to 1/10th of the total solution. Seal the lid tightly and shake vigorously
Allow the two layers to seperate. The alkaloids will be in the solvent now. Freeze the solution
After the two layers have seperated pour off the solvent (keep the solvent).
***Unfreeze the aqueous solution and add more Naptha...shake...allow seperation more than once
For optimal alkaloid extraction.***

The alkaloids are all in the solvent solution that is sealed.
Take a small dish and pour the solvent in it. Leave it out exposed to air
To allow the Naptha to evaporate. (Keep away from flames)

The resulting matierial will vary in purity depending on the
Amount of time spent removing the alkaloids. There is
A possibility for crystals if the process is done well enough?

The resulting product is a mixture of various alkaloids
Including 5-meo-dmt, nn dmt, bufotenine, and beta
Carbolines. It is a tryptamine mix.

With what method did you test this or is this an assumption you made?

This is what people who never tried with wild arundinacea but read psychedelic shamanism always say..and it seems they are almost always referring to wild arundinacea...DO you have big medicine, yugo red or turkey red? Brachystachys, canariensis, minor or aquatica? Or just wild phalaris arundinacea?

It is definatly not that easy when dealing with wild arundinacea unless maybe you live in turkey or somewhere else where a high alkaloids strain in found that produces offspring of the same chemotype.

With wild aquatica or brachystachys it seems much more likely you will get usable tryptamines.

With wild arundinacea grass you will get varrying levels of tryptamines, and you can end up with much more beta carbolines than tryptamines..and things like NMT and 5meoNMT.. Your claim of a tryptamine/beta carboline mix is pretty likely, though that does not mean it's going to be anything like DMT..nor is it necessarily going to be something useful for entheogenic purposes as is. The alkaoid profile of extracts is like playing music chairs in my subjective experience for starters..

That was an assumption I made based on the information I have read on the subject. I live in The NE part of the US and have identified nice healthy wild Phalaris A. by some streams near my house. I am positive that I correctly identified it because of the ligules! I appreciate everyones patience I am very inexperienced and love all the feedback
