First Time with Dimitri — Looking for Some Guidance

Hello beautiful souls,

I've been feeling the call to sit with Dimitri for a while now, but I haven't quite taken the plunge yet. I recently completed my first successful STB extraction, and everything went smoothly. I've got a decent amount of experience with shrooms, but Dimitri feels like a completely different territory, and I have a healthy amount of respect (and nerves) going into it.

I've mixed up a vape juice at precisely a 1:3 Dimitri-to-liquid ratio (2 mL total, with 1.5 mL being a 70/30 PG/VG mix) and plan on using it with a SMOK Morph 3.

A few questions for those with more experience:
  • Does that ratio sound on the lighter side, middle of the road, or fairly strong?
  • What wattage range tends to work well with a setup like this?
  • Any recommendations for a first-time session?
  • How long do you usually draw for?
  • For a gentle introduction, how many hits would you suggest?
  • Any rookie mistakes worth avoiding?

I'm not necessarily looking to launch myself into another dimension right out of the gate—just hoping to ease into the experience and get a feel for it with intention and respect.

Appreciate any wisdom you all are willing to share.

Do you have so little juice that you can't afford to try just ramping up draw times? There's no tolerance to speak of and you're back to baseline after fifteen minutes or less, so you can just try multiple times in a row doing longer and longer puffs to see where you get to. Also no need to rush these things!

More watts or longer draw times will get more DMT into your system, up to a point. Too many watts means you might run the wick dry and burn the good stuff, too long a draw and your lungs are full or the timer on your battery stops you ( many have a ten second limit ).

So start low, and build up. DMT hits so quick that after a minute you can be sure the strength of effect from that draw is at its peak, so its really easy to calibrate compared with say mushrooms where it takes a while to judge the effect.

The ratio sounds fine for a sub ohm tanks like the morph 3, at least to start with. It might not be enough to manage a one hit breakthrough, but you don't ask for that.

So, bearing in mind the above ( and that your DMT sensitivity may vary from mine ) if you're desperate for some actual numbers then I'm going to report on my experience with different rig and say 15W for five seconds will very likely not send you completely and will result in open and closed eye visuals. If all you get is a bit of a trippy feeling then draw longer next time, or up the wattage by 5W and try again. If you run out of watts and lung capacity then the mix was too weak.

The effects do ramp up in a non linear fashion, there is a base amount to get in you before anything happens at all, then after that the curve is quite steep and has definite steps, so increase gradually if you don't want to risk a surprise :)

Good luck!

Mostly at least, I've been all about the small hits.

I've successfully used the juice Calculator at - Minty Love - JuiceBuddy1

Looks like a 1:3 Ratio is about what I mix up for my second tank (800mg NN and I may up to 3ml with PG and sometimes a little VG for my 2ml Geekvape Zeus Tanks so I have a little extra to top up with), you can get good but not overpowering hits around the 2-3 second with a fairly slow breath, save a bit of breath to suck the last bit down with air so it gets to your lungs and hold in for about 10 seconds. My other Tank is a 1:3 ratio and that's more subtle but still makes some lovely experiences.

For my Geekvape I run at 30watt and close the air vent down to around 2-3mm open, this runs a Z 0.15 ohm Coil.

If it were my first time with DMT I'd actually recommend a glass pipe and a jet lighter, I started at 5mg and got some intense effects, some people need a lot more than me, but its a good starting point. Try to be open and let the experience happen, it can be a big shock to have your reality changed so rapidly and don't be surprised if your initial thought is "F*** that for a game of soldiers, I'm not doing that again" you'll then remind yourself why you are hear and do it again.

Mixing Vape Juice up has been a game-changer for me, you can get a soft launch or a big launch, you can stay sub-breakthrough and enjoy deep meditative places. I usually stick with small 2-3 second hits, let my body relax and heart rate calm before taking any bigger hits, I can spend 60-90mins dipping in and out.

You can add in sublingual Harmalas 30-60mins before, please look up and read about any bad reactions with prescription medicines etc before you follow this suggestion.
Harmalas can extend and change the NN DMT experience and I'm sure you'll find the effects very beneficial 40-60mg extracted Harmalas should be sufficient, I found 100mg to be a little too heavy for me.

Top tip: PUT THE VAPE TIP PROPERLY INTO YOUR MOUTH RATHER THAN ON THE LIPS TO AVOID THE FEELING OF MELTING YOUR LIPS!
