First Timer.....

SWIM is about to attempt his first extraction (man is he excited).

He is thinking of using the Lex Tek, this is because despite the fact that it didn't appear to be the easiest, the materials used are available readily to him and he found the Tek to be well written and offer good explanations - even pictures . What are people thoughts about this choice??? (I have read the DMT extraction overview so I'm aware that its not recommended for beginners here).

SWIM will be using powered MH instead of Acacia, and from what he has read MH has a low fat content and therefore does not need a defat, would he be correct in assuming this????? Further more despite this been his first time he is really aiming for the highest quality output possible, would it be worth doing the defat step to ensure this?????? | What would be the most newbie friendly means of this????

Just one more quick question: I was just wondering what people have found to be a very user friendly siphon device. SWIM has read the Tek's but so far nothing is jumping off the page as the best option.

Best syphon tukey baster is what I use, and gl I like q21q21 I try to stay Away from chemicals in my dmt

I didn't know about this tek but THREE defats are definitely overkill with mhrb. I get extremely pure spice without defat but if you still
want to perform this step just do it once, more is definitely useless.

As Hatersgunnahate (sic? ) said a turkey baster will do the job nicely but you can also tape two 10/20cc syringes together (to avoid naphta
being in contact with rubber).

If you're looking for purity the key steps would be bicarb washes of the np extracts and a recrystallization, not a defat.

User friend siphon device: nasal aspirator (bulb type) and a milk jug as your container! Squeeze the milk jug to get the naphtha to the top and use the aspirator to suck it out with the precision of a syringe but the speed of a turkey baster..

No defat is needed.
