Fixing QT's TEK

Hey, everyone. Suppose that SWIM wanted to imagine fixing QT's TEK just as an hypothetical thought experiment:

First of all would this a worthwhile endeavor or is the TEK hopelessly broken beyond all repair?

SWIM might be interested in doing this, for instance, because of the desire to work with small quantities. SWIM has gathered that the main broken parts are that the pH of the acid is too low, while the pH of the base is not high enough, and that using lighter fuel instead of VM+P is non-ideal. What other parts need to fixed?
