Zippo lighter fluid is illegal in cali? Or coleman's lantern fluid?

The Acacia Extraction Workspace>A/B lists a number of alternatives if you read the first few posts.

Thanks, I'll check out the acacia extraction workspace.

I don't know about the purity of zippo, but coleman's contains dye and/or rust inhibitor and therefore will not work. VM&P Naphtha is unavailable at retail outlets in California.

Since I just received my batch of MHRB I'm hoping to attempt Q21Q21's tek soon. VM&P is not available in my country and the only solvents I've been able to find so far are Zippo lighter fluid and Coleman fuel (European version).

I've read that the US version of Coleman's turns the end product blue while the European version is clean. Is this the case or is the European version bad also? Any other suggestions? Thanks

I've only ever heard good things about the UK colemans. In my opinion it's worth buying a small container and doing an evap test. Even still, my limited knowledge tells me you could still do a freeze precipitation with blue naphtha.

If they're lucky then their friend Mr. Search will only show them about five threads where someone asks the same question and the response is, "Use the search function"
In the case of the "best smoking method" question this is not correct. In a brief search I've found many in-depth posts on smoking method and devices. The topic of smoking method has been very well covered here, it will be more useful for users with this question do do some research and ask any particular questions in one of the threads that already cover smoking methods.

Whilst the Nexus search leaves a lot to be desired (you can also use outside search engines to search the Nexus with more precision), search definitely is your friend.

From the FAQ:

FAQ: Whats the best smoking method?

Highlights from the search (search term "best way to smoke dmt", searching posts, 50 results per page, match all words):

Thanks. I'll of course do an evap test before proceeding. Hopefully it will do the trick. :)

..i don't want to ever type out answers to the following again!!:

Q: my acacia extract came out as an oil..is it ok?

A: if it smells like dmt, is from a known dmt species, then it is usually fine and perfectly active..this is how the original Changa was invented..

Q: can it crystalise after a few days?

A: if it has NMT (as A. confusa does) , yes..see: entheogenic effects of NMT

Q: where do i find that?

A: use google search engine..enter question or topic followed by dmt-nexus in the search field..

i have searched around and asked a few people i know what the yellow stuff is in dmt and havent come to a for sure answer. i have heard they are oils from the plant matter and also have heard it contains different alkaloids in it?

i have tried both with not too much difference except for when its yellow it is more dense and also a bit more harsh. is the yellow stuff in it worse for you lungs or at all usable?

ive seen someone use heptane to recrystallize, by heating both the dmt and the heptane up in a warm water bath, then mix them together. he was stirring the mixture to get everything to dissolve, there was nothing but the yellow goo left on the bottom. the liquid was poured out into a separate container and the yellow goo was left to evaporate. so now there is completely clear crystals from the liquid that was poured out, and the yellow goo solidified. now since he removed the yellow from it, is the yellow stuff worth keeping or smoking?

Based on my limited research, this is the method I would choose to purify the product. It seems pretty straightforward.

You mean water extraction prior to basing ?

Would mean that you get rid of most of the plant fats, which makes pulling easier and gives you a cleaner product. You don't have to mess around with mimosa particles too.

thx alot for your answer, its great to learn more stuff here,
what are the effects this step on the yield?

It for sure is fun to learn about this here and testing your first product is AWESOME :)

Depending on how many pulls you do on the plant material (3 may be enough, 5 is optimal) you get similar yields. It's more time you have to spend in the beginning with pulling/filtering/evtl. reducing lots of liquid but you will get to a cleaner product which doesn't need as much cleanup. There are some teks here for that too :)

Sure, if you have the time for it, go for it. I would say it's less likely to screw up with an A/B. I recommend using a tek from the wiki for this. Also, when you have found a decent tek, you can scroll down to the sources and open the original thread were you sometimes find hints on what can go wrong or what to avoid :)

Edit: If you choose to proceed :) it's important to not throw anything away until you have your final yield. So even when something goes wrong, you can most of the time recover the goodies.
