forum picture resizing / the traveler

is there a way to resize images within the forum? if there isnt, then can there be one made? like it could be an auto resize, making any picture no bigger than 512 x 428 or something like that. it would just reduce the size but not distort it. I know we have paint programs and should resize thing on our own, but 90% of the people don't or don't know how...
the reason way my concern with this is I and many others are using tablets and handheld devices and it messes everything up when HUGE pics come in and there is a lot of zooming and scrolling to read and see the fantastic pics. I am sure this is the same for laptops / desktops, unless the browser resize to fit their screen, but still impacts the portable devices which don't "fit to screen".

just an idea, thanks.

Pictures that are uploaded to the forum are shown with 800px width and in mobile view with 400px width.

However, linked images I have no control over, maybe in the future I make some auto-uploading feature but for now I have no time for that.

many times ive clicked nexus threads only to be faced with a long loading time and a mishapen page that is ridiculous to read thanks to lots of HUGE jpgs.

i dont want to be advertising other sites but over on BL they have a NSFW tag feature.
just like the quote and other tags its like [NSFW] *whatever ur tagged thing is* [/NSFW].
its basically a box/tag u can wrap around very large images as well as not-safe-for-work content.
it saves problems like i mentioned above if people are uploading lots of large jpg or image files, and allows people to read threads that contain potentially nsfw content if they are viewing the nexus forum at work (on work computers etc) or in places that you might have people able to see what ur lookin at (such as a laptop at a net cafe with people around you).

surely im not the only person who gets this problem? or is there some auto resize setting in my account settings up top that i need to set? (not what hes on about in the OP)

this is a good example of the use of the NSFW tags ;)
