New to the extraction process and looking for a way that hopefully doesn't use Lye, or anything as dangerous as Lye.

Why not check the wiki for the q21q21 tek, it uses lime instead of lye, is simple, and is tested and tried with very positive results.

The wiki contains all the extraction info you need. Also, you said you don't want to use lye, the Tek you linked to is a lye Tek. That Tek also suggests usin ammonia to do a wash. This I would recommend against as it has led to significant loss in yield.

Why don't you post an introductory essay so we can get to know you better? I would suggest to do some reading in the FAQ and WIKI before posting any questions as most answers can be found there.
