Freebasing fumarate woes..

swim's annoyed.. DMT fumarate never freebases for him when he tries the fridge or freezer teks involving sodium carbonate. He doesn't get it.. he saturates 100 ml or so with 30 g sodium carb and adds that to about an equal amount of water with a half gram of DMT fumarate dissolved in it, then it's on to the fridge or freezer. Neither method has yielded any results, DMT freebase fails to precipitate out. Perhaps the freebase simply refuses to form for swim, for mystical reasons uknnown to him.

Heres all 3 methods of freebasing fumarates

The 10 minute tek just doesnt work for everyone.

only 2 methods are almost foolproof.


The slow pure white crystallization method.

Sodium Carbonate Paste and Pull method.

IF you still have that jar of carbonate solution with the spice,just let it dry at a very low temp(below 40degrees celcius)
and then pull with anhydrous IPA or Acetone.

how long did you let it in the fridge after mixing the sodium carb solution ? It should be at least 3 days.

Was there immediate clouding when you mixed them?

It sat for 3 days.. and no change was noted, so it went on to sit for over another week. No freebase. Yep, there was clouding when the two solutions were added to one another. This DMT must be resisting his efforts.

how much liquid was it for that half a gram of fumarates? How does it look now, still cloudy? After those few days, did you try freezing and thawing and the filtering the liquid to see if anything precipitated? Is it possible some did precipitate but you just cant see through the liquid but maybe once you pour the liquid through a filter you'll see it?

(dont worry, it will get saved one way or another, nothing is loss until you throw it away )

200 ml in total were used.. 100 for the sodium carb solution and the other 100 for the spice fumarate. There was an attempt to filter, but the resulting solids were nothing more than negligible as yield. swim didn't even bother saving them. swim figures he may have to do as sigmund suggested and save this attempt using IPA.. other than that he may just have to resort to the paste method.

Think maybe half a gram isn't enough to be using in the first place? Seems that only about half that would end up preciping out.. maybe swim needs to try it using more spice. Only problem is, swim's a little worried to do so after these seemingly failed attempts.
