Hello! Im a long time reader first time poster!

Anyways i have one or two questions about the freeze method:
First, When you pour the naphtha into a jar do you put the lid on when you put it in the freezer?
Second, If your freezer isnt that cold, does that mean you leave it in longer?

Thanks!

I did this without putting a lid on at first.. I would recommend putting a lid on for 2 reasons...

1. To stop any ice crystals falling in..
2. Because the naptha will evap a little until it gets cold - i found out the hard way that the stuff in my freezer compartment all stinks of naptha now.. it must have evapped and then condensed on the surface of bags/tubs etc

as far as I know if your freezer isn't cold enough, that's it there- it isn't cold enough fullstop.

I'm sure yours is though unless it's a broken old one, in which case why would you use it?

I do believe it needs to be -20 - I checked my freezer which my family has had for over 10 years and it is a spot on -20, so I'm sure yours will be fine, see if it has a dial where you can adjust the temp?

I've used 2 different freezers, and each worked even though one was definitely a lot cooler than the other. They both worked pretty well but the one that was a little warmer left me leaving my jars in a little longer

My Friend just Pour his Naptha Into a jar for like 1hr intill it gets cold then he moves it to a glass Flat Glass Baking pan are Glass Plate so the Naptha is Covering more of an aera
So u will get snow globes Faster although he dose leave them in there for 12hr.............😉

Even with this, there are still loose ends.

Please make more of an effort to be a little more clear in your posts.

Sorry for going off topic OP.

I don't know if this post is related. It is a question about freeze percip. I have done freeze percipe many times and have beautifull crystals that smokes so purely that I don't under stand why some one would need to recrystalize: 1 To purify it? 2 Make it stronger of a crystal; which if so would it; a. Make so it had a higher melting point. Aka not melt be fore I can smoke it while it sits out in the open?* or b. More potent?

When doing recrystalization with acitone doing a slow evaporate with foil with a small hole in the top so it slowlt evaps makeing for a longer crystal? I have had mixxed results doing freeze percips. First I only had a few mason jars to work with making it hard to reach the bottom of the jar. I must have wasted a .6g of spice due to I me using an old tapperd jam jar with grooves in the sides. I also lerned that I need to use a lid more often due to water getting in my naptha making ice bumps that I thought was dmt was not. Why are larger crystals better is it just for show?

SWIM is pretty new to this but to their understanding;

People re-crystallize to make the spice smoother and remove unwanted oils. (Basified Solution/Excess Plant Oils)
People seem to want larger crystals because they are visually pleasing and easier to manage.

SWIM could be wrong, its only their understanding.

Yes, make sure it seals good. You don't want any water getting in the naphtha. Mason jars work great imo.

I usually leave it in for about 2 days regardless of temperature. Some teks say 24 hours but that's never long enough for me. When in doubt, leave it in until it stops forming crystals.

Make sure you save the naphtha. There could be alot of goodies that didn't form into crystals.
