FreezerPrep Nap goo junk? Oils? What Tek gets Shards?

After freezer prepping, and having a pretty nice collection of crystal on the bottom of my container I still have a lot of Nap. So I remove the Nap and put in a separate plate to air dry, while I let the crystal plate air dry. The plate with the crystals drys wonderfully, scrapes up nicely and is dried a bit more. But the Nap stays in a gooey form.

My first freeze prep the remaining nap turned into a brownish goo.

My ReX freeze prep turned into a clear yellow tint goo.

Is this because when freezing your concentrating the crystal and there really isn't much left in the Nap?

I don't smoke herb, but I let a friend goo up his nuggets. I know there is something in there because it smells. But it's a pain because its hard to put in anything and remove.

Done two different freezer preps. Both times removed the Nap into another dish to dry. It just didn't, it stayed a sludge.
Why does this happen?

I think he's saying the crystals from the freeze precip stay crystals, but what the evaporated naphtha leaves behind will never crystallize, it just remains a goo.

At least I think, because I've noticed this as well, but I usually reuse naphtha because I find I get maybe 50-100mg of goo out of 150g of bark by letting the naphtha fully evap, not worth wasting all that naphtha for such a tiny amount of non-crystallizing goo to me

I'm guessing this is some other psycho-active plant fat and not N,N-DMT or its some other form, maybe doing a basic wash on it would make it crystallize? I've not really played around much cause like I said it seems like a lot of naphtha to waste when it will pull just fine.

Yes ^ that's what I'm saying. I got a really nice yield so instead of dealing with the goo I just basically gave it away. I mean, my yield was so nice I've been giving away a ton of it anyway :d
I did not test my pre ReX stuff. But after testing the ReX, I don't even want to. Haha.
I had near orgasmic effects from the ReX, no problem holding in for 15 seconds. It's really nice,

BUT I can still tell there are oils or some impurities in there. It's not solid crystal, it's more like dried up Play Dough the color of chick peas.

I did STB Tek. Would Defatting have prevented this?

Is there any way I can remove these oils? I mean, I'm happy with the way it is. But for next time.

You wont get glass shard crystals from an STB...more like off white powder..(really small xtals mushed together)
No need to defat...there is little or no fat in Mimosa bark...

If it is a little gooey when scraped together...fan dry as much as poss till it hardens

If it is pokey as it is then just smoalk it up...

Cool. STB was ridiculously easy, although it was my first try and I wanted to keep it easy to get a good understanding of the process. I feel confident enough try something more in depth. As long as it doesn't involve running a column or something of that nature. I don't have that type of equipment.

So what Tek should I use for shards?

I get crystals with the q21q21 tek, which is about as simple as you can get.

Cyb, why wont you get crystals with a STB even after a re-x? Not saying your wrong, just curious what about it causes that?

I'm defiantly getting crystals, But like Cyb said they are very tiny. which ends up in a powder/crystal cluster like form.

Hey Seeker, can you post a pic, if you have one, of your q21q21 yield. That would be really cool.

Here is a pic of my STB Pre X and ReX.
As you can see they are both still a bit oily but the ReX is much cleaner. And neither are Shardy.

Check this for insane crystals...

Its a lot of work...re-xing to the max..
There is a crystal shard post somewhere for re-xing nice shards..have a search!
But to be honest...its a real craft and really unless your a purist...just be happy with a simple re-x and the off white gear.:d
