Fuelite question

it evaporated quite fast on swims first attempt, but he didnt have very good yields, but he thought that was more likely due to some *mistakes* is it still alright for recrystalzing? swim is having a hard time to find vm&p naptha in new zealand :/
 
density of hexane at 20 degrees C is 510 grams/litre so if you're looking at 196 grams/litre that is 38.4% which doesn't sound too good, really depends what that other 61.1% is though.. unless you can verify that the rest is a combination of petroleum distillates i wouldn't use the stuff, but then again maybe it'll work fine; just use more solvent per pull and perhaps try a freeze precipitate rather than evap then rex have you looked for shellite in your local petrol station or hardware store? shellite = naptha [img:0a6e4e529e]http://img107.imageshack.us/img107/3905/displayproductimageaspfaq4.jpg[/img:0a6e4e529e]
 
yea I've been looking aroundfor shellite or VM&P, even rang up a few places, but no luck as of yet. SWIM used some of that Fuellite on 100g MHRB and got 0.5g of pretty white crystals so it seems ok. How would I find out what else is in it, contact the manufacturer?
 
well looking at the fuelite msds i'd say it should work fine. the main reasons i'd say it may be undesirable are: 1: it may extract unwanted plant-material constituents 2: it may be 'dirty' and unsuitable for evaporation-collection 3: its may not behave like Naptha in a freeze-precipitation, ie: it may hold the dmt at freezing temps 4: due to the low amount of hexane (which i believe is the primary ingredient in naptha), 100mL of fuelite may not hold as much dmt as 100mL of naptha - in this case just use more but if you got 0.5g from 100g of whitish crystals then maybe it works fine.. would you attribute the low yield to poor technique, or possibly something to do with the solvent? (mhrb expects ~1%) have you bio-essayed the stuff yet? the DCM (methylene chloride) isn't particularly useful in DMT extractions, but if i were you i'd get a good few litres and keep them aside for the day you need them (i've seen DCM used in many synths and some other extractions) other items you (i, all of use) may find useful from that vendor are: acetone ethanol denatured WP 99 Isopropyl alcohol methyl ethyl ketone toluene xylene
 
SWIM followed Nomans Tek, that 0.5g was from the first 3 jars. SWIM thought .5g is ok for 100g? Was only his second extraction but he felt he had very good technique this time, no spills, used a minimum of vessels, everything seemed ok, he thought that yield was good. You would have expected 1g? What is bio-essay?
 
from experienced extractors i see standard yields of 1.1% - 1.5% (yours being 0.5%). bark quality could certainly be a factor. Were all liquids well heated when performing the naptha pulls? imo they MUST be if you wish to recover all goods (dmt is freely soluble in naptha only when HOT, at room temps its solubility is greatly reduced) bio-essay - smoke it
 
Id add trichloroethylene to that list. Haven't used it for DMT, but it would be interesting to work with. Evaps FAST Pulls a nice hash for those too paranoid stoned to work with butane. That fuelite seems to be the shit though. As long as it evaps clean. Its the nicest looking freeze precip that Ive seen from a STB. (mhrb expects ~1%)" Expects 1%? Since when? If youre getting .5% out of average <$200/kilo barkover the net, youre doing allright.
 
well it was hot for the first 2, probably cooling off more by the last 2. most of it was obtained from the first jar. 4th jar is still in freezer but looks to be empty. SWIM hasnt smoked it yet, got 12hrs in the fridge and 24 in freezer left :(
