Fumarate problems..

SWIM has been researching converting freebase to fumarate and has gone ahead to try it out.

A little background info....

SWIM extracted freebase using Lazyman's tek and everything turned out fine. Process yielded about 1g of DMT.

The problem lies in that when SWIM poured the FASA into the other acetone/freebase jar it clouded up, but never formed crystals.

SWIM still has the liquid and was wondering what to do in order to get the fumarate crystals to form.

used 50ml anhydrous acetone with 1g of freebase & 50ml acetone with 310mg of fumaric acid.

Hey – patience is a virtue.

I’ve never prepared DMT fumarate, but it seems like there’s a very simple answer – just let the solution evaporate. You should end up with DMT fumarate plus (maybe) a tiny bit of excess fumaric acid.

DMT fumarate is insoluble in acetone at room temperature, so putting it in the freezer won’t have an effect.

sorry, I'm not sure I understand, can someone help? What is wrong with my undersatnding here:

Fumerate is a salt on the compound. The layman tek extracts DMT that has a salt (I thought fumerate)

What the extra step to add a salt that's already there? Clearly I have something wrong. Please help

^^^ this seems like the right answer, I too have never prepared fumarate from freebase, only extracted it as a fumarate, but if you take a look at this thread or click on FASA.

Put it in the freezer, if something precipitates then you haven't made the fumarate salt, you still have DMT-freebase.

what? from where do you get the information that dmt freebase precipitates from acetone in the freezer?
