Hello! I'm Bassic. Before I dive right into the good parts, let me give you a general background information. I am 25 years old, I grew up my early years in New Mexico (ages 1-15) and lived in Northern VA most of the rest of the time. I've also spent some time in Denver, Washington D.C., and Texas. I dropped out of high school when I was 17 because I got caught selling marijuana on campus, I got my GED when I was 17, and since then I've been involved mostly in the sales portion of the workforce (restaurant host, server, furniture salesman, and finally car sales). As a hobby I make relaxing electronica, I DJ from time to time when I get the chance, and I practice most Buddhists' principles (I do not consider myself Buddhist, however). So, let me get to the point of why I'm here, what my intentions are, and what I hope to gain from this forum.

I have ran across this webpage quite often in the past few years, mainly because I have been involved with the spiritual use of psychedelics. Like many before me I found myself searching for answers, looking for the point of all things. The point of all things is illusive to me, enigmatic...so naturally I am fascinated by that which never seizes to amaze. I found some recipes for extracting DMT from mimosa, and became a perfectionist to extraction. I made so much, I ended up just giving it to friends who had more than they knew what to do with. I myself have only used it about 5 times. I enjoyed each time, however lines of spiritual use and recreational use keep me from doing it more often. I have seen many of my friends form a sort of unhealthy relationship with the compound. They started using it as an escape rather than an outlet. Upon meditation and careful processing I decided to quit making it for others, and focus on my own spirituality. Some friends got angry, and I lost a lot of people in my life. However this did not sadden me because upon the reaction gave me a sort of enlightenment, and showed me the true nature of many "friends" that I had. Some used it as an escape, some used it to make money, etc. This was a complete disrespect in every aspect to what I'm about so it did not weigh heavily when I lost those relationships.

I have remained loosely in solitude, only speaking with a small handful of people, and have grown spiritually beyond what I could have imagined one year ago today. I have taken on botany as a hobby of mine, and I grow many natural medicinal plants. Any plant that can save me a trip to the medicine aisle when I go shopping, I am interested in. My intentions on this forum are to share wisdom with those who seek it, share my experiences, search for insight from alternate perspective, that sort of thing. Most of my posts, however, will be grow guides on certain plants, and I will be growing these plants myself, so to those whom are interested, they may wish to share with me their progress as I share mine. For those interested in growing medicinal plants, shoot me a message and I'd love to start a thread for my first grow guide, "Mimosa Hostilis". Lovely :)

Thank you for taking the time to read this,
Bassic

Hello Bassic,

A warm welcome to the Nexus.

I'm sorry to hear about losing some of your friends, but it actually sounds like it's their loss more than yours... But I know pretty well what it must have felt like as I have been through a similar episode myself many years ago when I quit the "cannabis trade"...

I live in a small studio so growing is out of the question for me, but I am about to start an experiment with thyme as I've been told that it releases some air-borne agents that are very beneficial to the lungs. The advise I was given to put a living thyme plant next to my bed in order to enjoy it's healing properties will be put to the test one of these days...

Hello Bassic,

Welcome to the Nexus, :D. That was a great Introduction Essay. Way to make use of an opportunity to really introduce yourself to us.

I really feel I have begun to get to know you by reading this - it was so thorough. You sound like a great match for the Nexus family. I know you've been here before, but I do not know how much you've looked around - I'd encourage you to take a good look. There's a lot of folks growing plants, researching plants, etc. I think you are going to love it here and I'm very glad you signed up for membership.

Again, welcome to the Nexus.

Hello!

Thank you for the warm welcome! :) Sorry I took so long to reply, I ended up having to spend some time in jail for driving on a suspended license...
