I've only heard contraindications against harmala/tryptamine combos containing the 5-meo variety. But 4-ho-dmt is used in this way fairly often. My personal experience on this combo was a rough ride trip-wise, but not toxic. However, it's probably not good practice to experiment with research chemicals in this way.
Why is this the case for 4-HO-DET? I was considering combining harmalas + 4-HO-MET and/or 4-HO-DPT. Anecdotal evidence seems to support that harmalas + 4-ACO-DMT or harmalas with DPT/MET (base tryptamine) work just fine.
What molecules specifically should I be careful of?
although some had rough (mental) trips there doesn't seem to be anything particularly dangerous about those combo's.. again, this is is just anecdotal evidence and one should obviously thread carefully when mixing various compounds with harmalas...
I can only presume that 4-OH-DET must have serotonin releasing properties in addition to 5-HT2a agonist properties, and perhaps some MAOI qualities as well.
Something similar was found with 2C-T-7, which could prove fatal on combination with MDMA because of its similarly mixed pharmacological profile.
