Hey all,

Followed this guide and I believe it was for harmala HCL which isn't the type of harmala I needed.

The one I'm after is FB for a changa mix.

Have I wasted time following this guide or can I salvage my harmala and still use it im a changa blend?

Sorry of this is a newbie question but all of this information just got a tiny bit confusing.

Interconversion between harmala HCl and freebase is easy. If you have one form you can make the other. To get freebase, dissolve the Ha.HCl in water and add base such as ammonia, sodium hydroxide or sodium carbonate.

To get Ha.HCl from freebase, dissolve it in 3% acetic acid solution and add hot ¾-saturated brine. Allow this to cool slowly, then refrigerate.

On The Wiki it is said:
F - Redissolve harmalas in hot water, add sodium carb, filter (keep solids, discard liquid).

G- (optional) Instead of precipitating all the alkaloids in step F, first add sodium bicarbonate to precipitate harmine, then add sodium carbonate to precipitate harmaline
If you followed either of these steps at the end then what you have is freebase harmalas anyhow.
