Has anyone seen the jester on their way out?

SWIM's second approach to hyperspace(realizes hasn't done more than a quick pull of the curtin) he was... visited/watched while in the process of vaping. It was jimjam, not pure mole...

Quick setting of this experience - garden shed(pretty much empty), sitting on chair looking toward the fading light thru trees... nice view on any day!

But it was a very strange thing to experience... Working on the 2nd pull, everything started to shift, then while watching the flame under the bowl, a masked watcher showed up to see what SWIM was doing.. Stopped the pull, breathed out(more shifting, carrier wave), went for the 3rd...
Masked one showed up again! LOOKING at the pipe and watching the process... Then hyperspace showed SWIM how it's all folded up on itself and dancing and moving with the feeling of love is a good idea, oh look at the pretty Escher environment, wait, sorry, those are flashcards, back to the "real" for you, you didn't take enough, we'll see you later!

Mask was black/white, with a bold tribal pattern, not symmetrical, with a heavy dose of humor and entertainment as the associated feelings...

If any of you have anything CLOSE to a similar experience, I'm sure we'd all love to hear it! I know I would :)
 
I had something like that, actually almost identical. But after seeing a tattoo of a green tara, I thought that I had most definitely seen that instead. What I believe is that it might have changed form, but definitely the first thought was that it was a jester. and from what I remember it was, but also that a dancing green tara was also strikingly similar.

He started by appearing above me, attatched to the ceiling, then he was flashing around the room. Then he was watching me burn the spice, and was telling me that he approved and wanted me to keep going. He didn't say words, he thought them and I somehow understood.

After that, he was guiding me down a road to some destination, definitely a casual guide to a breakthrough, I believe. He was just very re-assuring and ... funny! I loved it. I think we seen the same spirit.
 
EXACTLY!!! He was like an escort thru the experience! And I use He intentionally, there wasn't anything female to his aspect according to SWIM, will update if any future sightings!

I saw a jester at the end of my DMT trip, he didn't look like your jester though, he had six eyes and he was wearing a black and white chequered suit, it was definitely a male. He was standing at the top my stairs looking down at me just before I was about to go up them. (These were real stairs not hyperspace stairs, this jester came to my reality after I came back from hyperspace)
 
Yeah, mine was here to, not in hyperspace... just pulled the curtain back for a moment is all when I saw him...

Seems to be a theme of black/white going on...

Anyone else?

The perception of jesters, elves, and other faces seem to be common during the DMT experience. This phenomenon is likely due to increased activity in the fusiform face area.

Well, that’s an extreme over-simplification, but if you find it satisfying, then I guess that’s what counts.

Obviously, when you see a face, either an actual face or an image of a face or a face in your imagination, the “face” neurons in your brain are going to be active. This describes what is happening, it does not explain it.

I’ve never seen a jester during a DMT breakthrough (or anything remotely human), but I introduced a friend to DMT and guess what – she saw three jesters during her first (and only) experience. She knew nothing about DMT, and since I have never seen jesters, I didn’t even think of mentioning the possibility of seeing jesters, yet she saw jesters.

Why are jesters so common? Why not faces of relatives, or famous people, or movie stars, or religious figures? Why jesters in particular? You might respond that the “jester” neurons in the fusiform face area are activated, and no doubt they are, but again, this describes what is happening and doesn’t explain it.
 
Personally, I never see the jesters, but I have a friend that sees them all the time. I wish he would become a member of the nexus so he could tell you for himself, but for good reason, he won't. That's one more person though, that you can add to your count of seeing jesters.

Sounds crazy! I've never had hallucinations like that, open-eyed and all. I'd like to hear more about it.
 
I saw something similar,the image was a "man" from the waist up that was a embossed,shiny,all black(and he looked like a light was shining on him),top hat figure standind in front of several 2D rings that had writing inside of them.

This is what his pose was kinda like except he was looking at me and pointing I think.I couldn't see his suit or anything{just his body and shape of top hat}because he was all black but because of his "polished" look I could see what looked like a suit.I remember thinking or feeling like he didn't want me there but he let me pass and see beautiful visions.

Very interesting as I often see top hats, or entities in top hats (and rather oddly riding bicycles). And I am not alone. In 'The Spirit Molecule' there is also a description of this in a report:

There were all these dolls in 1890s outfits, life-sized, men and women.
The women were in corsets. They had big breasts and big butts and teeny
skinny waists. They were all whirling around me on tiptoes. The men had
top hats, riding on two-seater bicycles. One merry-go-round after another
after another. The women had red circles painted on their cheeks, and there
was calliope music in the background. And there were some clowns, flitting
in and out, not really the main characters, but busier, somehow more aware
of me than the mannequins.

I also had an encounter with a guide in a suit, but not with a top hat. He took me to a very common place, a corridor full of doors. I often go here, and the guides take me through one of the doors (or not, if I haven't had enough, then they just point the door out)

I am very much a "fence sitter" when I come to the real-or-not debate. I think it depends on how you approach it.

That aside, recently I did get an insight which I think may explain the jester prevalance.

The 'pattern' that is often seen upon entering hyperspace and which often covers objects in pre-breakthrough space is very similar to some recorded phosphene-induced patterns and for me frequently consists of light and dark diamond or geometric shapes. This is well documented with reference to psychedelics (and it doesn't explain all of it for me which I why I am still a fence sitter).

However different-coloured alternating diamond shapes do feature frequently on clown''s and jester''s costumes. Consequently when our mind is confronted with the phosphene pattern morphing and extruding into a perceived three dimensions, then it seems to me a clown or jester would be an understandable interpretation by our brain.

(or alternatively the trousers are costumes are based on their hyperspatial equivalents - as sort of clown-trousers-chicken-and-egg situation!)

I once saw the travelocity garden Gnome on the way out, he hit me in the face with a glowing psychedelic spit ball that came flying from a 4th dimension -so I didnt see it coming until it was too late , it splattered on my face and he smiled, ...then I was out.

Maja, great drawing! It immediately evoked some of my own notes on dreams... please post a few more if you are so inclined. I am attuning to the process of integrating/reclaiming meaning through artistic dialog with the spice experience - I do not draw so well, so my route has been through writing.
These "field-notes" style drawings strike me as being very precious - detailed yet aphoristic, enigmatic yet rich in symbolism, personal yet resonant with the rest of us... great example of artistic/mythic? integration of spice travel. I hope I haven't tread on your toes here - my intention is encouragement and ...thank you.

Likewise, when the FFA neurons misfire due to altered concentrations of neurotransmitters, you're gonna perceive a face. Especially if you have been primed to look for faces during the trip. We see what we want to see. So that makes it hard to discern whether the face is the product of your imagination or if extradimensional beings visit you right after smoking DMT.

But the question remains: why is the perception of faces so common during the experience?

And why have some of us never seen anything remotely close to resembling a face?
