Has Testosterone Been Part of The Depressive Conundrum

Migrated topic.
That period of time when I felt slower and made the day harder lasted for months. It was unfortunately unsustainable at the time.

When it comes to preworkouts, I actually found one that is stem free. Before finding that one I had been off of preworkouts for maybe a year or so. The crash isn't worth it and saps the energy I should get from the workout itself.

One love

I have had chronically and clinically low testosterone for 3 years of opiate use; it's really sad. (it hasn't come back) :(

I'm actually very likely to start injecting weekly for life soon.

Low T makes you feel like a worthless sack of shit and not even close to a man.

Does anyone else take TRT injections and get regular bloods?

@Voidmatrix, that's a great stack. You should be getting way more Vitamin D from the sun anyway, 10 min strong on body produces 10-15k IUs

Zinc is huge, especially if you've been chronically deficient and don't eat red meat often. This is the best thing in the whole stack.

i've been on opiates (now in recovery) the past few years and I honestly believe my depression is due to my lack of testosterone. i'm a middle-aged male and shouldn't feel this low and i know there's some connection. pre-opiates i didn't have this issue.
Same brother. Opiate use even if not chronic lowers T by 80% and shuts down your HPG Axis HARD. It's very clinically documented and actually to be expected, it's also pure evil and took my life energy away and sexual desire. Update me in PMs if you want, going through the same. Hang strong. Have you considered replacement therapy?

I still wonder if I have low T, but at the same time, I don't have the resources now to be able to go and get tested, let alone, receive replacement therapy every month. I would really like to just keep exploring things, especially after realizing that I have overtrained and clearly have burnout, two things that raise stress and cortisol levels which can lower testosterone.

That being said, I am going to smoke a bowl and take some CBD now

Syrian Rue works well to boost testosterone, ime ;)
I will take some for the call of it anyway, I need some harmalas in me right now. Will report back as my system "reboots" a bit more hopefully too (have not been clean over 6+ months yet) then when I get bloods, we'll consider hopping on if still clinically low (>200levels) after labs.

A late response, but you can get a testosterone level blood test very cheaply, I had low testosterone and have been on TRT treatment for 6 months. It wasn't the silver bullet for me to fix things, but everyone is different.

Sorry i should add I'm in the UK, private test was about £100 which i did initially, but transferred to the NHS so i could get brain scans and bone density scans for free,. Private clinics just want to sell you TRT not the full suite of testing that should be done to check for causes.

The private service was a US based company though called manual, they are essentially online, i would hope their blood tests are also reasonably priced in the states as well so you can at least check your levels. The TRT monthly was about £120 though.

I do hope you move to a Universal health care eventually, seems crazy the richest country in the world doesn't have it and is the only developed country without it.

What a big topic to address, its all very individualized as far as supplementation is concerned. Its so hard to really tell wether its supplements or actions that improve mood and sense of well being. ex was it the better sleep and more frequent gym sessions that has your energy up or was it the vitamins that were the precursor? I have found that in the last few years bloodwork has gotten so cheap ~250USD for a great mens panel that I do it out of habit every 6 months just for my own training data. With the analytics you can really focus your resources (time and money) on pinpoint supplementation. With that being said the other 50% of the equation is how you actually feel and maybe its the most important metric, I think as long as the result is you feel good your on the right path. As far as optimizing for BF%,Sex drive and wellness those are all separate categories. Your current stack looks to be good at supporting your natural testosterone production and optimization.

Suffered an injury in combat sports, ended up with one nut and this of course causes hypogonadism.
Ever since I'm dialed in with my TRT I feel and look 10 years younger. Can only imagine how many men suffer from low -t
Thanks for this bro. May I ask your age?

I must admit though, TRT has made pushing weights more enjoyable, i always found it a slog and a pain in the arse, but once TRT kicked in, its was more enjoyable and less of a burden, I had mild improvement in motivation, but it wans't the cure all i was kind of hoping for me, but there is plenty of people it does have a big improvement for. I was diagnosed with secondary hypoganadism, likely down to being overweight, all other tests were fine. I'm mid 40's which is young for it, but I've since lost the weight, and weight training so I will be coming off TRT to see if my levels stay normal, otherwise back on it. Definitely worth checking.

Ditching your woman and staying single would boost your testosterone 😂
On a serious note, weight training gives a real improvement in your T level, as does wild meat or just some good steak.
I feel like heat and cold exposure would level your hormonal levels and resolve some issues. Lots of studies are available if you want to dig deeper.

Correct!
My day starts with CrossFit, I Eat clean (keto?) and eat lots of red meat, fresh fish (tuna 2-4x a week), and chicken, and take naps!

Forget all the spices/herbs/instagram adds/chlomid/etc. Get the real T!
Where I live we don't have endocrinologist on call, so I went through an online US clinic (although I'm not from the states) and paid out of pocket.
Got my GP to keep an eye on my blood work. After the first receipt I just ordered T from Russia or Colombia or wherever I am at that moment.

How long until you got mental improvements? I personally got more mental clarity and less stress from doing Keto then 6 month of TRT, maybe I should give it more time?

Pretty quick, less than a month I would say! Within a few weeks my coach at CrossFit noticed my growth although I already trained with him for 3 years, so weird!
Lost my love handles pretty quickly although I didn't change my diet. Have been on keto for a long time.

It's not like a 'ritalin' hyper state of mind, more like you can start and finish a task without to much distraction or losing track of what you've done.
Feels like you slept really really good! Which, I actually also do now.
