i am a massive believer in the energetic properties of crystals. like the concept of feng shui (movement/stillness), some crystals are able to open and move blocked energy and some are able to 'fix' it so other energy can move around it. someone with extensive reiki/crystal healing experience can truly blow your mind with these things...
like me...
check out the pics from my healing room. i have a full array of gems for every chakra and every energetic condition. for me, they are all palpable. but in particular- i always seem to have the following in a little pouch around my neck: the most beautiful opal you've ever seen (keeps ALL chakras open), dioptase (heart chakra), rutilated quartz (acts as a powerful amplifier for all crystals it is in contact with), fire agate (strong 1st and 2nd chakra energy), tiger eye (3rd chakra), turquoise (there's a reason native american art is so rife with it, it is incredible for the 5th chakra among other things), a truly rare and jaw-dropping piece of naturally terminated amethyst from bolivia (put THAT on your 3rd eye and see what happens!)...
and lastly and most intensely...
if i could only have one of my crystals, without a moment's hestitation it would be my tiny, fingernail-sized piece of true-from-the-source satyloka quartz from the satyaloka monestary in southern india. google it and read about it. i could put this tiny thing in the palm of donald rumsfeld and he would jolt like he were shocked. this crystal was purposely collected and infused with the profound enlightenment of those monks that live there. it is MEANT to be spread into the world, to find it's rightful caretaker, and to awaken in him/her the highest calling. this crystal has truly rocked my world. for those in the crystal 'know', aside from being one of the 12 'master' crystals, this particular satyaloka crystal that i have is a record-keeper, an isis, a pink phantom, it has a key in it AND a window/timelink.
this crystal has 5 profound phenomena within it as well as being what it is at it's core. since this crystal found me, tremendous transformation has taken place in my life. awareness and understanding have grown exponentially. manifestation of my 'calling' has seemed to have happened over night.
i also have a tiny piece of meteroitic iron from Yaozhai town in Nandan County, Guangxi China....it has been scientitically estimated to be approx 4.5 BILLION YEARS OLD!!
put THAT in your hand and meditate!! :shock:
so-to answer the original question....i guess my answer would be....yes....

p.s. the bottom pic is the main altar. clockwise from the bottom there are: lemurian seed sphere, prehenite with pink selenite sphere on top, celestite with quartz crystal sphere on top, apophyllite with honey calcite sphere on top. inside the box- a solid malachite box FILLED with black tourmaline, 'prayed on' jade from a monastery i visited in thailand at the top of the tallest mountain in chiang mai, and a lemurian record-keeper wand.
