Tip: what I can give is always to do proper research on dosage levels and start with a low amount. If possible, take ample rest between trips, frequent use of entheogens can cause psychotic episodes in some individuals who are prone to psychotic episodes.
Wishing you safe and happy journeys.
Thank you,
I had noticed that somewhat but I’m not sure quite. For context the biggest trip I had was earlier this evening, with a few smaller trips with a same similar theme.
From what I’d heard about DMT I was expecting a lot more abstraction and colors, and I certainly have had those experiences before and more abstract experiences as well, that have been both a little scary but also very beautiful. Last week I had this really great trip, where as I was coming down I was feeling bad about myself due to some stress and self criticism, but felt this overwhelming sense of love and felt like someone was telling me it’s okay to be me. That was the first time I’ve ever felt something like that and it was unexpected.
Last night and tonight I broke through (maybe, but I don’t know how else to describe it unless there really is a deeper level) with full ego death, In the moment I genuinely and wholeheartedly believe that I met god or some sort of creator. Just completely unravelling reality before gently placing me back in my body. My comedown lasts a while after that, I haven’t timed but maybe a couple of minutes.
I’ll likely take some time to reflect on the last trip, but I can see how a bad trip of that intensity could be equally as traumatic as this was fulfilling. I do find it interesting to look back at how my mental state changes during the comedown from genuine belief of interacting with god, to a questioning of the implications that our minds can construct such an experience. I do wonder if the distinction really matters.
If you know any papers regarding the risks of psychosis, I don’t have any history of mental illness in my family other than depressive episodes I’ve had in the past. I definitely need to read up more on the risks before I introduce this to anyone, as I know I’ve had good experiences so far, but I have also heard of the traumatic experiences some people have had. Though I thought I heard somewhere that the ratio of good to bad experiences leans closer to good experiences, I know there’s still not been a lot of clinical research performed with DMT yet.
