Help! I accidentally raised the pH too much. I tried adding vinegar but the pH wouldn't go down. Is this batch ruined? Or do I just need more washes?

Like the title says... This is my first time. I'm following q21q21's no filter technique for harmalas extraction from Syrian rue. I already messed up once by using too much water. So I put the put on simmer until the water was reduced by half to make things more manageable. I would *imagine* that's okay to do, but who knows? However, I added way too much NaOH solution. The pH is 11. It looks like I've got some precipitate, but I have no idea if it's the right/expected amount. I tried adding vinegar to get the pH down (no idea if that's the right approach or not), but it had no effect!

Am I screwed? Should I start over?

Hello everybody,

I'm new to the Nexus and I've been reading a lot of the wiki the past couple days. I came across the Q21Q21 Vinegar/Lime A/B Extraction Tek. It seems like an easy place for beginners to start, and it's also very detailed.

However, I'm left slightly confused. If one were to go with Tek 2, would a steel bowl be usable for the mixing step? I know steel and metal are similar, but I also know they are slightly different.

Also, I know the container that the contents get mixed in can't be plastic, but couldn't the container that holds the water that will indirectly warm the...

Q21's white DMT tek seems to be the way for many people, especially novices and people who don't want to be working with nasty lye. I have been doing some research about the tek and I thought I would do a small compilation of things that help to reach good results from the tek. Here's just my small share but please add your tips too.

-Use a glass or metal bowl for mixing as plastic might leave some residues from scraping while mixing and in worst case will be dissolved in naphtha. When using glass, make sure it's not cold before pouring in boiling water, otherwise it might crack...

Hello!

Recently, SWIM tried q21q21's tek, and it worked. *YAY!!* But she had a few questions, so I thought I'd relay them for her here.

First, in step 0, SWIM had a hell of a time separating the fibers out of the powder. She was only making a small first-timer batch in case she messed up, so she went ahead and took out all the fibers to get a fairly pure powder of the MHRB. But for only 30g, it took over an hour. This obviously isn't going to work for larger ammounts. The tek said that fibers are ok, but SWIM is a bit of a perfectionist, so she is wondering if the wonderful people here...

Thread 'doing q21q21's tek, question about bassification'

hey folks,

SWIM is in the midst of his first extraction and is currently bassifying what appeared to be a beautiful dmt-acetate. during the bassification process, the q21q21 tek indicates to add small splashes of water to keep the substance easy to mix but not watery. at the moment, SWIM's substance is clumpy and dry but rather easy to mix. should he keep adding water until he get's a muddy texture or keep it dry/clumpy?

edit to add: it's pretty much the same texture of scrambled eggs but pretty dry...hundreds of little clumps and balls. should SWIM periodically add little bits...

So if I understand correctly, going the part 1 route results in a liquid final product? I can understand not getting crystals withouteth the use of naptha, but couldn't the end result just be condensed into some sort of red rosin or resin type substance? I'm not overly familiar with "JimJam" although I have had some experience with some 'full spectrum' acacia and mimosa extracts which were nice, and which is something I'd be happy to end up with but the tek makes it sound like you need to go to tincture?
Second question is i found a huge bag of hydrated lime at a hardware store and this...

Just wanted to report some noob's exciting results (3rd attempt) using Q21Q21 A/B tek:
Vinegar->lime->Naphtha
Results are noticeably better than previous extractions.

200g finely powdered MHRB was treated exactly following the Tek. In previous attempts, much more lime was added to achieve "dry and crumbly" consistency. This time, the exact suggested ration of 3:4 was used, i.e. 150g lime to the 200g of MHRB. This resulted in a firm gelatinous textured slurry that was allowed to sit overnight, then broken up and dried in a food dehudratoe set to 113F for 2 runs of 1 hr each, leaving it...

I thought I'd do a quick write-up with some pics on my first DMT extraction. I'd say it went pretty well.

I decided on Q21Q21's Fluffy White Funfest Tek but replaced the Naptha with chemically pure Heptane.
