I need some help for my first extraction atempt!

So,im thinking to atempt my first extraction later this year using Marsofold's tek,but i have some issues!

1-I can't find any naphta in my area,can someone suggest another substance that i can use instead of naphta?
2-It's ok if i cook the MHRB in a regular pot?Or i really need to buy a crockpot?

Before I used to get a a bit annoyed that other members didn't help newer members out and hated the word " spoon feed " :thumb_dow

Thank you for the support and the patience,i know it's all in there but i am like a baby in a toy store,and it's quite hard for me to sort things out at this moment,and i just wanted to know what's the best thing to replace with some of the stuff that i can't aquire from some more experienced people!

You aren't bothering anyone. We're just trying to get Nexus members to be self sufficient from the start. There is a HUGE amount of info here, and I know that the volume of info alone can be intimidating to some people. Sometimes coming up with the proper search terms can seem like an insurmountable task.
There are alternatives to naptha. Do you mind if I ask what part of the world you live in? If we know that someone may be able to help.
Make sure you look through all of the teks in the wiki. You may find one that appeals to you that doesn't require naptha or freeze precipitation. Don't go for a tek just because it looks easy (says the guy who is a devotee of the Q21Q21 tek 2 ). You can learn a lot from trial and error. If you make a mistake during an extraction process, you can learn from it. One thing I will stress: If you make a mistake, DO NOT throw your source material away. It may be salvageable.

You are so right,the amount of information here is overwhelming,and to answer your question i live in Romania and naphta is really hard to get,i don't even know why!Thank you again,i will look to all the tek's and then i will try to put together a hybrid tek!

Can you guys get hexane? Or Lighter fluid? Those will work. It will likely be worth your time to evap some of your NPS of choice to see what/how many impurities are in the solvent.

Yeah. If you can get lighter fluid for a zippo style lighter, it is probably naptha. It might be mixed with something else though so you need to do an evaporation test to make sure no traces are left behind. According to wikipedia, in Romania, naptha is called either Nafta, Naphta or Benzina nafta. I don't know if that is helpful at all. Here in the U.S. we have something called Bestine, which is sold as a rubber cement remover. It contains mostly heptane. It doesn't pull as well as naptha, but works, although it is best used for recrystallization. I don't know if you can find it in Romania though.

Hi sabex , sorry I didn't mean to come across like the asshole I am !! ( Not )lol :?

I've used zippo lighter fluid before , it may pick up a little more yellow then others but it's works a treat ,

Just before you do just check that it evaporates clean with no oily film left , do this either on glass or mirror is best ! :thumb_up:
