I'm new and have a question about one of the steps in the extraction process. When at the step were the pyrex dish gets put inside the freezer, just out of curiosity; if someone didn't have access to a freezer would a Styrofoam container like the ones you get at the store and a lot of dry ice work as a substitute?

If you can get a polystyrene box big enough for the precipitation dish and a suitable amount of dry ice, yes. You'd have to ensure that the dish stays level enough not to spill - and be aware that the dry ice will outgas a load of CO₂ and eventually run out.

Once the naphtha warms up again, precipitated DMT will redissolve, so you need to have ongoing access to sufficient dry ice.

Carbon dioxide also reacts with NMT to form a naphtha-insoluble carbamate, which may be more or less relevant depending on the plant material used for the extraction.

Sounds like I'm better off sourcing a freezer. Thank you for your Transform. When I get the rest of my equipment I will post what I was able to get from my very first extraction. Hopefully everything goes well.
