How long do you you have to wait with taking iboga after taking ayahuasca? After taking iboga I have heard you have to wait at least 6weeks before you take aya, but is it the same the other way around???

No, you can take iboga the next day. Noribogaine blocks the effects of tryptamines and stays in your system for about a month after ingestion (in flood dose), that's why you have
to wait that long before taking aya.

I'm taking a mixture of 1 gram Ibogaine HCL with 2.7 grams of Ibogaine TA this weekend. The problem is I already have my Ayahuasca retreat booked for the 7th of September (two weeks) after Ibogaine. I now find out through this thread that you are supposed to wait longer. My question: What could go wrong if I go as planned anyways. Appreciate any response. Thanks

Peterpan. That is a hefty dose of ibogaine you are taking. 1g ibogaine hcl + 2.7g TA. If your TA is 60% actives, that would be 2.6g ibogaine or the equivalent of 52g iboga root bark at 5%.

I don't think anything would go wrong if you take ayahuasca two weeks later.

There won't be any dangerous interactions, but the DMT will feel much weaker. Like justine said, the noribogaine will interfere with tryptamines binding to receptor sites.

I have read of a few people taking ayahuasca a few weeks after Iboga and reporting augmented, deep healing effects from this. I don't think it would be dangerous, but it could well prove to be interesting.

Hi guys. I might end up going as planned. Then posting here what happened. Also, 50+ root bark equivalent sounds a bit legal. A bit apprehensive now... perhaps 1 gram HCL with 1.5 gram TA, but don't want to miss out I was instructed by the vendor according to my circumstances and physiology that it would be an adequate dose.... What do you think? Will I be terribly suck and spend a small eternity in hell on that full dosage? Thank you for being awesome.

It's up to you dude but I wouldn't worry too much regarding dosage. Pure ibogaine and the TA feels much cleaner and more easily tolerated than root bark on the body in my experience anyway. If I was in your position I would take all of the ibogaine and TA that I had for a very deep initiation experience (staggering the dosing over a few hours). Otherwise you could keep some of the TA for a booster dose later to prolong the afterglow.

I think it depends on how much caapi you use. Taking realy high doses of caapi could be dangerous. Sensitivity for tryptamines is diminished for at least a month, but sensitivity for caapi is enhanced. You'll need less caapi for psychedelic effects. If you take more caapi, risk of serotonin syndrome is definately higher if you ask me, because noribogaine is an SSRI.

really? this whole decresed sensitivity thing makes me not want to take iboga now. I really dont want a month with decreased tryptamine sensativity. I think tryptamines, especially endogenous are important for biological functioning and everything I have been doing with diet and micro/macro dosing has been geared towards upping my own tryptamine levels and increasing sensitivity. I probly wont take iboga now :( ..Oh well.

Personally, if anything, Iboga has made me even more sensitive to the substances I was extremely sensitive to begin with. Maybe I am an anomaly, but I am grateful.

I never noticed any negative interaction between aya and iboga. My first flood was immediately after a aya every week diet, and I've eaten a few gs of root bark with strong aya drinks several times. Ingest what you want at your own risk, but I have no apprehension about that combination. It definitely changes the quality of the experience.

polytrip, I dont think noribogaine is well understood, and classifying it as an ssri does not satisfy me. THH is also technically an ssri isn't it? people ingest THH in aya all time time...

I will need to look into this more then. I am just not ready to stop working with DMT. If taking iboga will reverse everything I have done to increase my sensitivity than at the moment it does not seem worth it. Not yet.

Fractal, in all honesty taking a flood dose of iboga is risking your life so it seems a little strange to be overly concerned with whether dmt and shrooms will be as potent for a month.

anyways, I didn't notice any diminished effects really. The effects of everything feel different after a flood, including food, sleep, excersize, conversation... For me all the changes iboga brought were positive.

Iboga is totally worth it, and the noribogaine is definitely worth the trade. If you don't get enough nor to make it worth it, then it won't be enough to interfere either. Dr. Mash is actually working on a noribogaine patch now, she thinks it's the most likely way to get an iboga derivative approved for treatment in the US. Gotta say, sign me up!

^^I would like to second what ouro said, and I completely agree with ragabr. Also, I didn't notice any reduced sensitivity to psychedelics, if anything the opposite. In the month or so afterwards I have found I'm a lot more sensitive to mushrooms and cactus.

Iboga is one special plant.
