Is DMT freebase supposed to be brown?

I just got a package of supposed dmt freebase, but I thought it was white. . . it looks like brown sugar instead. .. should I go ahead and smoke it?

No!

This is a perfect example why you should extract your own... Pure DMT is white/transparent, and it's not hard to have it purified to that point. Which means whatever you have, it should not be trusted. Who knows with what solvents/chemicals it was extracted with, what possible toxic rests can be there.
