Is it too late in the season to attempt growing caapi from seed?

Migrated topic.

I know that caapi seed only remains viable for a short time, however, how long exactly I don't know.

That said, who knows how old the seeds most vendors will be selling are. Are they this years harvest?

I have heard they can take up to a month to germinate, June/July, would give me at least a month or two of outdoor growing then it would be inside for the winter perhaps in a window.

Maybe it is worth a shot or should I hold off until next spring?

I believe they seed near October......don't quote me

That being said , they don't stay viable long. A couple months .....but some folks store them better than others .

I personally hate growing them from seed. Very temperamental indeed. Even if they are fresh and my soil mix is good I don't get high viability ....perhaps it's my luck with them though

I personally would buy one live plant or rooted cutting , a handful of seeds with no high expectations just for fun and some G3( ?)
Hormone for soaking if they have it available . But it's always been a roll of the dice at least when I've grown them.

Good luck
