maybe one didnt look as deep as they should have or maybe just missed something somewhere. some of you know this field a lot better than others. but is there a Psychotria viridis tek anywhere ? a friend of mine tried to use the QT tek and from what he said, nothing came of it. :?: [/quote]

It seems the way to go for such things is an A/B with no defat and then: A - evaporating the NP and doing another A/B on that or B - salting the alks out of the fatty solvent. Coschi explains the procedure better than I could in his acacia tek posted somewhere on here. So get to work and let us know what your friend finds out.

one probably shouldnt. but my friend was looking for one in general as opposed to just trying to help find a fix his current project. from what he said, he had already taken the naptha, warmed it and then tried to reuse it. to try and pull more out of some already basified mhrb since he didnt warm it the first time and thought the whole project to be a loss anyways. he was just looking for a fresh start.

my friend had several projects going at once incase of failure with any. he read how people suggested to reuse the naptha, so from the viridis to the hostilis it went as things werent looking good. which is why he was looking for a viridis specific tek for the next time, so things didnt end up the same. he has your tek for the mhrb now, but still had some basified left over. sorry for the confusion.

You can probably save both of them by just adding more lye if you used QT's tek. Three different pH's are spec'ed and all of them are too low. Just double the amount you used. The extract may be yellow oil forever though, due to the too low initial extraction pH. To my knowledge, there are no teks specific for psychotria and no good ones for leaf material. My friend is messing around with diplopterys and having the most success doing an A/B (Marsofold style) with no defat and then redissolving the residue all over again in straight white vinegar and doing an A/B on that with a defat step. White crystal results but yields are low and he doesn't know if that's procedure or plant.
