Is this Acacia Floribunda or Acacia Longifolia?

Recently visited marked occurrences of Acacia Floribunda and my plant identifier app recognised it as Acacia Longifolia. I analysed photos of each plant and unfortunately got a little stumped by their similarities. Would anyone be able to identify which species this is?

Side note: I harvested the phyllodes and am also curious if it would be fine to use the Cybs' Hybrid ATB 'Salt' Tek to extract. Cybs' Hybrid ATB 'Salt' Tek - DMT-Nexus Wiki

Not a guarantee but I'd say your correct 😅

Chucked Ur photo through my plant app... I recently found heaps of Acacia longifolia as well and definitely looks similar but so many tiny differences to categorise sub species... Either veins on the the leaf the symmetry, flowers and bark, all vary despite looking almost identical.

Definitely Acacia longifolia. Acacia floribunda does not generally have prominent basal glands on the base of phyllodes. Also the inflorescences are usually a little less packed and slightly longer ime.

Yep is a beautiful little Acacia longifolia.

As @TheAwakening said, floribunda can be differentiated by the lack of basal gland and longer looser inflorescences. Longifolia has 3 equally prominent veins with minor anastomoses between them. Floribunda has a prominent central vein accompanied by two lesser prominent veins and tends to have finer anastomoses between the veins (the non active forms have less anastomoses) and had a more papery texture with appressed hairs.

Both species have active and non active forms. Common cultivars tending towards inactive.

A/B method is the general preferred method for Australian acacia species.. at least that is common “lore” with acacia. It’s probably about time people documented ATB and STB better though. I suspect some species it would probably be fine.

Thank you these clarifications have made me now aware of the more obvious differences between longifolia and floribunda. The gland is now staring right back at me.

I will continue my own searching but if anyone has any tips for suburbs or parks in Sydney with Acacia Floribunda, I would greatly appreciate it.
