Is Using Rust Remover as an Acid Safe?

Migrated topic.

So I was looking around a hardware store and I know that rust remover contains phosphoric acid, I just don't know how much, so I took the name of one product and found the msds for it, the product is called HG Rust Remover and here is the msds

HG Rust Remover contains phosphoric acid, organic acid, nonionics, alcohol and
water. It has a ph of less than 1.

Is this safe to use for and A/B DMT extraction?

Vinegar is incredibly cheap and food safe. Minimal amounts are needed in a regular A/B - 1 tbsp/Litre water to get to pH 3 or 4.

Go for vinegar!

Forget all of the nasty stuff that may be in the rust remover. Just buy a pint or 500 ml of normal white vinegar and you will have a huge supply of acetic acid suitable for extractions. I use a few ml per 500 ml of water...

I wonder if you could use sulfamic acid?
wikipedia said:
Sulfamic acid is used in the S.C. Johnson & Sons, Inc. "Scrubbing Bubbles Fizz-Its Toilet Tablets."

Why not vinegar? What’s wrong with vinegar, people?

I guess it's hard to believe that one of the cheapest and most widely available acids is also one of the best acids to use. Really people, why would you use an unknown acid when you can get that cheap, widely available and food grade acid called vinegar?

Peoplez. He didn't ask what to use, but if he can use xxx.

Since 8 people have already posted "vinegar" there is no need for the next six to do the same.

OP: I have no idea. Any particulat reason you wish to use phosporic acid ?

Any chemical you use at any point wants to be clean i.e. 99% pure at least. Harmful additives are often left behind and in your final spice.

So for the Rust Remover I would say a definate no!

I wouldnt oxalic acid may be contained under the title of organic acid. oxalic acid is widely used to remove rust, and is extremely toxic to humans
