Wow, one of the 'old ones' 
Welcome back!
We've made a fair bit of progress in various directions. E-mesh came to the fore as another vaping method, followed by DMT salts for e-juice, particularly DMT citrate 'honey oil'.
As far as alternative extraction methods go, I've been encouraging people to try a seemingly backwards method where the DMT plant (if it's tannin rich material, particularly) is made into a tincture with vodka and then clarified using lime. After filtering, this is frozen to remove excess water and a more concentrated, higher proof DMT-enriched freebase tincture remains, along with the question of how pure of a product one can get out of that solution, not to mention how can one get a pure (or at least, safely smoalkable) product out of that solution? Answers on a postcard, please... Details are scattered around a bit:

Putting aside DMT extraction (and flagrant self-promotion, perhaps) for a moment, one of the most exciting developments has been the development of the CIELO Tek for cactus extraction.
Hope this proves to be of interest/use to you. People still love STB and GVG tho

skoobysnax, true. For pharma you'd want a dmt-salt. Regarding freebase creation for smoking, call me a purist, but I don't like the idea of some base left in spice, let alone calcium /sodium salts. I also prefer not to evaporate non food grade solvents like lab grade IPA down to obtain yield.

Update: I read through this entire topic again and really like Eaglepath's post. I combined his/her procedure with other knowledge /input and came up with the following plan: 1. Obtain base Sodium Carbonate "SC" or Calcium Hydroxide "CH". Go for food grade. SC can be made by heating easily...

Interesting, so this does mean you would recommend adding an acid to these cold alcohol soaks? If so, which acid would be the best choice? EDIT: And am still unclear as to whether iso or ethanol would be better for soaking up orally active DMT, if any? Tnx again for all the help! This being in...
