Hey guys
Some friends and I will be taking LSD soon, two of us taking two tabs, which is double what we've ever done. The other friend will not be smoking weed, although he and I have smoked it on every LSD trip ever. He's worried that without the weed, his trip will not be set off, as he feels it's the weed that gives it the boot.

He won't be smoking for work related reasons.

I've read that people still have amazing trips without weed, and told him that he should have an awesome experience, can anyone back me up on that?

everyone's body reacts differently, so I cannot predict how the trip will be without grass for you. But IMO grass is absolutely not necessary when taking LSD. Yes it might give a little boost but I prefer NOT to smoke weed when i trip because smoking will sometimes make me anxious.
SO if you are already doubling the dose (you only know for sure if it are the same tabs from the same blotter) there's no need to worry

Weed with LSD is great, but it isnt necessary. What does "trip setting off" even mean? LSD will affect you with or without weed, so make sure its a good set and setting and it will be great ;)

By the way, when you make a thread, please use thread titles to sum up the contents, otherwise its a selfish use of the forum. Remember that other people in the future might have the same question so if you say what is the thread content, it is easier for others to find the answer :)

All from my friends perspective, he's just a little worried it won't be as good. The way I see it, we're doing double the dose and our dealer is a real good fellow. He should go great.
 
Hi. In previous experiences, got the idea that weed brings you down a bit if you want to have a proper conversation, and as soon as you stop smoking it, back to la la land ;) In the last group session, it took 2 hour to roll a fat doobie, haha, and that gave a 15-20 minutes window in which everyone had all their senses in their usual places. Don't forget to let it go :)
 
While it is a personal decision, as SWIM has friends who love smoking cannabis throughout the whole trip and SWIM used to do this as well, I have parted ways with this combination. While it will enhance it visually and be more conducive to abstract and sometimes 'deeper' thought, I personally find that the cloudiness often outweighs these benefits and makes for a more anxious trip FOR ME. But like I said, on the other hand I have friends who feel the need to smoke every trip and won't go without it, but these are also friends who won't go without it any day of the week.
I would say you can have fantastic trips without weed (depending on the blotter of course), and that maybe you will learn more.
 
Always best to listen to your bodies and intuitions so you can learn how to trip in ways that best suit yourself.

Since I find LSD incredibly vasoconstricting I will dose with oral cannabis as it counters the constriction with vasodilation.
I also like to rub a bit of transdermal magnesium on my skin as this helps tremendously with tension / tremors.

Some harmalas like ayahuasca can help curb the lysergic stimulation and also help vasodilate as well.
 
I think that if you arent getting there without the weed, than you are either feeling some sort of addiction to the cannabis and just want it either way, or you have not taken enough LSD. I used to smoke about an 8th every time I took mushrooms..now I almost never smoke with mushrooms becasue I dont use cannabis daily anymore..the only times have beenb after my peak, but lately I find that cannabis sort of shifts and dulls the glow of other psychedelics so I dont really do that much anymore.

LSD is LSD. LSD is a powerful psychedelic. Of course it works without cannabis. Take more if you arent feeling it enough.
