Is this kind of illusionary precaution really necessary? Why do people still use it?", I start wondering whether they are a deluded narc who is trying to get someone to spill the beans on this non-existent conspiracy, and then I get angry that my taxes are being wasted this way instead of catching rapists, ending genocide, feeding the world, and converting to a green economy. Grrr!
Lets say its the same courtroom that an earlier person mentioned. The person in court says "Remember, this is not me. Its SWIM, who is someone else". And the judge says "Oh, sorry for the confusion. I didn't realize it was someone else. Those posts are meaningless then." Or likewise, if someone has their computer seized for whatever reason and the evidence gatherers find their alias and read their posts, do you think they will say something like "Okay, we know he doesn't have any LSD, since only SWIM has that. No sense in looking for that. On the other hand, "I" has marijuana, so we should concentrate on searching for that."?
I don't think "spilling the beans" is too dangerous unless you are a manufacturer or supplier. But assuming it is dangerous to "spill the beans" by admitting to say smoking DMT, I think it is then just as dangerous whether "I" or "SWIM" smokes the DMT.
