So seems very hard to believe but very easy to verify.

Mescaline malate seems to be insoluble in 40% ethanol solution. I did only a back test using unwashed hcl salts and didn’t measure perfectly so would need more tests.

Cyanific posted his extraction and based on older obscure and unverified posts I suspected it was malate. Mescaline Crystals from Water, Vinegar and Ethanol

So the technique would just be mix lime and water into cactus so completely freebased and alkaline. You can use a tar or even the powder.
Add enough vodka or ethanol of higher grade to pull the freebase mescaline.
Filter so the alcohol is particulate free
Add enough malic acid that it is acidic. The solubility is around 50g/L but does take a while to dissolve.
Allow it to sit for a few days and the mescaline malate should precipitate.
Freezer or fridge rest doesn’t seem to be needed.

You can wash with water or with alcohol to remove any excess malic acid.

Lots needs to be tested. Idk how effective this is… how to precipitate it all. Or if it’ll even work with plant material since only tested with hcl extract.

I first tested with 96 ethanol and saw better precipitation adding some water.

I need to repeat these experiments... I hope to experiment more in the future repeating my CO2 bubbling being the first attempt using more starting material.

I still favor using oxalic acid for salting and also want to experiment more with the 'carbonate' formed from H2O2 + oxalate salt. I still believe that salt to be stronger with better absorption.

Hopefully others can test this for faster results but slowly I'll be repeating these extractions since I'm doing my best to go further way from solvents with strong smells like ethyl acetate and xylene.

From post I made in the other thread the likely mescaline malate didn't precipitate and solubility is around 100mg/ml and I think it is actually higher closer to 1g/ml which I think is similar to HCL?
