Looking at Laser on wall while on DMT?!

WEIRD EXPERIMENT

I found a weird video on my YT feed (or the video found me), about a weird experiment you can do while on DMT.

You take one of those construction lasers (the ones that make a line for leveling) and project it in a wall, then look at it (or a little bit forward like if watching through the wall).
And supposedly you start seeing like symbol and characters... like japanese/alien symbols.

Has anybody here tried it?

I tried the laser experiment and it did not work. My sense is it was a DMT version of "The Emperor's New Clothes."

The original poster was a member here but he was way off in a lot of ways and I was here at about 2:30 a.m. my time when The Traveler had just had enough of him and perma banned him. When users are perma-banned their accounts get thermo-nuked and their posts and history disappear from as far as I can tell. This explains why you cannot find him.

I heard rumors he has had success promoting his schtick elsewhere. All I can say is expectations can influence perceptions. If you want to get rid of that fact you have to smoalk a lot moar than the experiment calls for.

I just saw it for the first time and thought it was funny... on the thin foil hat side of things.
I happen to have DMT and as an architect happen to posses a Laser level too, haha... I guess I should pack it next to my rapè snuff stick and poncho next time I do a ceremony.
Not any expectations on this.

The thing is, I´ve actually seen alien symbols on DMT...
And also in dreams, or at those moments when you wake up or are about to fall asleep.
I saw a really weird stuff once in sleep paralysis, beautiful thing like symbols, and later like blue metalic balls all on my bedroom wall.

I think some neurological types are more prone to a pareidolia for symbols than others. I taught myself to read before I started school, so I'd expect, possibly, to get a positive on this (hopelessly biased) experiment were I to try it. I don't feel the need to do so, however, because the dancing glyphs I've seen on an English hillside in broad daylight after a stiff dose of liberty caps were plenty enough of a demonstration of what happens when my pattern recognition systems go into overdrive.

Well, no pareidolia for me. I´ve seen this stuff in total darkness....
I´ve seen other types of stuff too.
Anyway... even if that experiment was real, it is not more ashtonishing than other stuff that happens during DMT trips... so, I guess it may have some appeal to a certain public (people who haven´t tried DMT and believe in weird stuff).

There very well could be a significant % of people who see symbols or patterns when looking at a coherent beam of photons on DMT, but this could be for any number of reasons, some more interesting than others. The crazy jump for me is his seemingly dogmatic insistence that this is the fundamental source code to the universal simulation or matrix when there is probably more plausible explanations (some still interesting, but his conclusions grossly outrun reason/evidence)

I mean it could just be pareidolia (i see the same faces/beings in a picture of the Orion nebula while tripping, for example. Others have noted the same faces)

Or it could be similar to seeing coherent sound/resonance waves. My friends and I reliably see neon geometric waves emerging from quartz singing bowls on LSDMT. Maybe coherent beams of light triggers something related to synesthesia, similar to how sound does.

The assumption about some symbols being "the source code of the (simulated) universe" is bizarre to me. Even accepting the assumption of a simulation etc., this idea would imply that such a "feature" has been programmed into the simulation, including a visual representation of the encoding (regardless of the specifics of that encoding). Okay, maybe. But maybe what has been programmed is a cool effect of seeing random symbols in a wall. It's a string of one assumption after the other that to me not only denotes dogmatism, but also a spectacular lack of imagination and curiosity.

If the effect is actually frequent, cool. Now, what about trying to fully characterize it (its variations, what external factors they seem to be correlated to...) and trying to figure out what experiments can be done to start understanding it better? Jumping straight away to some extremely specific interpretation screams "I want to create a cult". Okay, then create a cult, but you don't need some supposed DMT effect for that.

This! I mean, given the scenario, it would be a handy debugging feature, for sure But it all just smacks so strongly of the " yearning for a simple solution to all life's problems and mysteries " that drives take up of conspiracy theories everywhere.

My theory is just that laser light is incredibly sparkly and DMT overdrives visual pattern recognition... far too boring and devoid of techno-mystical insight for youtube though

It's just one more distraction to never look at oneself. Just as most people can't stand Silence and try to keep themselves busy, others create daydreams and live in them to avoid facing what is real. This is an age-old habit with a modern spin on it. Who is seeing these patterns? Somehow, that simple shift in attention escapes these visionaries.

Jumping straight away to some extremely specific interpretation screams "I want to create a cult". Okay, then create a cult, but you don't need some supposed DMT effect for that.

The DMT does, inadvertently or otherwise, help with the cult member selection process, however. It more rapidly highlights those most easily subject to suggestion and credulity, as well as the useful starting point being that many DMT users already having self-segregated from mainstream society to a greater or lesser extent.

Now, what about trying to fully characterize it [...]

Is there a dictionary of symbols at all? And how would one even go about determining the correlates of any given symbol? What modalities, if any, would these correlates even be alleged to manifest in? What claims are being made regarding the utility of even attempting to understand the symbols? Does it serve any purpose other than click-farming for those who place themselves at the helm of this... field of human endeavour?

Even if you can perfectly read the ones and zeroes in a modern computer memory, it requires much much (much!) more context (both cultural and technical) about the architecture ( and architects ) of the computer system to even start working out whether those ones and zeroes encode instructions, or data, or are even just noise of uninitialised storage. I speak as one who has tried to reverse engineer code, it's not at all easy without one hell of a lot of outside knowlege.

When you are (allegedly) a product of whatever is running the simulation then gaining that context seems impossible to me, we just can't see outside to work out what any symbols might mean. This is where people go nuts trying to spot "glitches in the matrix" I guess.
