Well I made up some cappi leaf tea using 30g dry leaves and a teaspoon of lemon juice, let it steep for an hour, then reduced it down to 100ml. It ended up looking as thick as rue teas I’ve made and looked quite similar under UV light. (BTW, if you have any OCD leanings with respect to cleaning, never look around your kitchen with UV light.)
I probably should have included what I intended it for in the first post; I wanted to use it as the MAOI along with DMT fumarate, and after reading through the Pharmahuasca sticky hoping for clear direction, was left more uncertain than ever. I don’t like feeling queasy, and I really hate ineffective doses.
In the end I balked and opted for some rue tea I had in the refrigerator. I just wasn’t in the mood for a possible failure and went with the sure thing. It was only about the equivalent of 2g rue and wouldn’t be enough for me to feel any effects on its own, but taken 1/2 hour before the fumarate worked just fine. I bottled up the cappi tea and put it in the freezer for someday when I feel more willing to experiment – probably with smoked DMT so I don’t have to wait.
So now I’m wondering with these harmalas if the dose needed for MAOI is less than the dose needed to feel intoxicated on harmalas alone. The 2g rue is barely noticeable on its own – maybe a bit relaxing, but at 3g I would definitely feel lightheaded and might see tracers from lights. That is the dose I would usually have. This time the 2g dose seemed to work just fine.
