Hello guys and gals,

I’m a new member, but a longtime follower.

I'm looking for advice regarding my first pharmahuasca experience.

I'm an experienced psychonaut and have been working with LSD for about 10 years, mostly in high-dose experiences. I've also smoked changa extensively, including breakthrough doses during LSD trips. While those experiences have been extremely valuable, I've become interested in exploring a longer-lasting DMT state than smoking alone can provide.

My current plan is to prepare a Manske extract containing harmine/harmaline hydrochlorides. I'm considering taking around 200 mg orally (dissolved in honey), followed about 40 minutes later by 180 mg of freebase DMT (possibly 200 mg) dissolved in lemon juice with a little sugar, followed by a bite of white bread.

Once the oral DMT effects are established, I intend to smoke some changa to explore deeper breakthrough states. My hope is to experience the extended DMT space that pharmahuasca offers, while aiming for a breakthrough experience that keeps me in hyperspace for a few hours.

For those with experience combining oral harmalas, oral DMT, and changa:

* Does the timing seem reasonable?
* How do these doses compare with what is typically used?
* Would you recommend adjusting either the harmala or DMT dose?
* Are there any common pitfalls or safety concerns I should be aware of?

Although I'm experienced with psychedelics, this would be my first pharmahuasca experience, so I'm especially interested in hearing from people who have worked with similar combinations.

Most of my DMT experiences have been deeply shamanic in nature.

Through repeated changa dosing on LSD, I often find myself moving through a sequence of increasingly immersive spaces populated by entities and complex geometric structures. The experience feels less like a collection of visions and more like a journey through interconnected realms, each one opening into another. There is often a strong sense of exploration, transformation, and interaction with the entities.

One recurring aspect of these experiences is the feeling that I am progressing deeper and deeper into those spaces, gaining access to new layers of the experience. However, no matter how many times I revisit them, I eventually reach a point where the changa begins to lose its effectiveness and I am pulled back before I can continue further.

That is the main reason I am interested in pharmahuasca. I am not looking for a stronger experience for its own sake. What I am seeking is enough time to continue exploring beyond the point where smoked DMT normally releases its grip and brings me back to ordinary reality.
My goal is to remain in that space for several hours and see where the experience leads when it is no longer constrained by the relatively short duration of smoked DMT.

That is why I am considering a high-dose oral experience, and why I am contemplating the addition of changa later in the session.

I realize these doses may seem ambitious for a first pharmahuasca experience. However, my goal is not simply to maximize intensity, but to extend the duration of the experience long enough to continue exploring beyond the point where smoked DMT typically brings me back.

That said, this is precisely why I'm asking for feedback from people with more pharmahuasca experience. If there are aspects of the dosage or timing that seem unreasonable, I'd genuinely like to hear your thoughts.

Any advice, experiences, or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Much love to you all.

Hi @UltravioletSoul , welcome to the Nexus.

* Does the timing seem reasonable?
Yes, no problem with that.

* How do these doses compare with what is typically used?
Extremely high. You will often encounter doses close to that mentioned but, most often, when the harmala dose is mentioned it's a lower dose that is unlikely to reach full inhibition.

* Would you recommend adjusting either the harmala or DMT dose?
Yes, for sure: I would lower the DMT dose, particularly for the first time. The harmala dose is good, based on your experience you'll know whether to tweak it or not.

Given that you seek a longer experience where you keep going deeper and deeper, I would suggest redosing instead of taking a single massive DMT dose. For example, those same 200mg if taken in four 50mg doses, taking the next one once you start coming down from the former, is likely to result in a longer experience that keeps getting stronger at each redosing. If redosing 3 hours after your initial harmalas dose or so, you could redose some harmalas as well, maybe 1/2 or 1/3 of the initial dose.

This method also allows you to partially control the intensity of the experience by spacing the redoses longer or shorter times.

I absolutely do not recommend taking 200mg DMT with 200mg harmalas as a first pharmahuasca experience. It would be much better to first get acquainted with it and then experiment. If you want more intensity immediately, you can always add changa.

* Are there any common pitfalls or safety concerns I should be aware of?
Not safety concerns or pitfalls, but be aware that it likely will be an experience with a much prominent physical component than changa. Strong nausea with or without purging is possible. Strong nausea tends to change the character of the experience and make it much darker. This can be very beneficial, but it can be tougher than one would think (if it happens at all). This is another reason why it's better to proceed slowly.

Also, if you aren't experienced with oral harmalas, you may want to experiment a single time with 200mg oral harmalas on their own. Again, it's a different experience from harmalas in changa, or sublingual harmalas.

Best luck with your journeys. I will be very interested in reading how they go :)

I fully agree and would suggest testing harmalas first. You can always do changa on top if you'd like.
Do it to know how your body responds, how much harmalas you need, and how it potentiates changa.
Then you can add a bit of oral DMT next time and slowly get to your working level.
I am interested in how it goes for you too. Welcome :)
