lye crystalizing

hello my question is will/can lye crystalize in plain room temp water that has been sitting for a week? i only put enough lye to turn 40ml water to ph 12 for freebasing my fumerates. after i pulled the naptha off for freeze preciept i let the water sit and have noticed huge solid clear crystals forming on bottom of container. is this missed spice or lye recrystalizing?

Lye can form crystals and they do look really promising.

Here are some easy tests you could try.

Get a tiny bit of the crystal and see if it is soluble in your naphtha lye will not be. Or do the same with clean water lye should dissolve. If you are still unsure get a bit of crystal heat on a thin bit of metal or glass and see what it does lye will not vaporize without serious amounts of heat.

You could also have sodium fumaric (byproduct) in there these tests should work for that to.

Lye solution is stable for an indefinite amount of time, unless some of your water has evaporated no lye should precipitate if you didn't over-saturated the initial solution with lye.

You will know when there's too much lye vapor, your nose, throat and lungs instantly start to burn, it's very painful. But when doing extractions you only inhale lye vapor if it's very finely powdered lye that goes airborne and then you breathe it.

I have been told a simple test to see if your crystal is lye or dmt is to put a small amount of crystal in cold water..if it desolves right away it might be lye!
But If it smells like dmt.. and doesnt desolve well in cold water it probibly freebase dmt...

thankyou all for your responses, it turns out that after removing the water from the container the crystals were in, while the crystals were drying they started to turn white and powdery on the top surface. after placing some crystals in fresh water they dissolved instantly and the ph climbed up to 10, so yes i guess its lye. man that sucks cause these crystals were works of art, now that i think about it there is a big giant clear crystal on erroid im wondering if that aint a big lye crystal, they look exactly the same except for the round pieces here are pics of my crystals and the one im talking about.

Na dude thoes are lab grown and taken with a microscope. But yours look huge there! I would be surprised if dmt can form that big of crystals.
