Making a Changa blend for the first time

@Madhattress - I haven't scrolled back to check yet, but were you planning to do pH-mediated harmala separation? We've plenty of info about that on the forum as well. Here's one with a whole lot of detail:

Some additional useful results come up here:
Search: harmine separation

Hey yes, I was planning on doing this one : Easy Caapi Vine Alkaloid Extraction Guide - DMT-Nexus Wiki

Thanks for the good info I will give a read!

So a good standard would be 1:1:1? Harmalas,Dmt freebase, leaf blend?
I wouldn't put that much harmalas until you get used to changa itself. Shit gets real weird when you have equal parts harmalas and DMT.

Strange that grain alcohol seems to dissolve the harmalas better than IPA 😅
It doesn't. Sorry if I made it seem like it does. The grain alcohol leaves a much more pleasant aroma to the batch than IPA.

What is your experience with using acetone?
I have a big ol can and have yet to play with any of it. Lol

Thanks ao much for the information. I appreciate all the tips! Yeah I'm going to experiment with a few different leaf blends and see what I like.

i think that would be a heavy harmala blend, which is totally fine, a more typical ratio is 1:3:3 harmala, DMT, leaf.

Okay thanks I'm going to play around abit with different ratios and figure out what works best 👌

Ohhhh okay I see, makes much more sense. I will see what I can find here, hopefully something similar to everclear. 👌

Ah, OK - harmaline separation is typically far less relevant when starting with caapi, where harmine predominates rather than the near 1:1 harmine:harmaline ratio we see with Syrian rue.

Yeah caapi vine is the only thing I have available to use right now.

Yeah I need to familiarize myself with everything at the moment.... so i am learning what I can right now regarding harmalas and extracting them.

I'd highly recommend smoking a pinch of each herb you are contemplating using, and seeing how you like the smoke. I know mullein is recommended as a base herb, and burns nicely, but I find I'm not so keen on the taste, so leave it out.

Yes so my plan is to get lots of different herbs to mix and match and I will smoke test all of them before fully committing to soaking them in the IPA solution.

Any recommendations on herbs you use? I'm going to order an order of different herbs soon. I am more looking for herbs that have calming effects and just tastes nice and I also want my changa to look nice, is the goal here.

Damiana, skullcap, chamomile, gotu kola, peppermint & lemon balm would be good to try. Blue lotus, or other flowers, added after the ipa evap (so they keep their colour), make things look nice.

I'd say be careful of how many different herbs you're using. The more you have with a certain amount of DMT and your experiences can range because of the distribution of herbs across the blend. The more DMT you use, the more variety of herbs you can add.

Just to clarify, I'm recommending those herbs to experiment with, not combine all together!

Also have this written down from somewhere as a guide to mixing:
Base (40-80%): Mullein, damiana, mj
Leading herbs:
Psychoactive: mj, damiana, sinichuchi, blue lotus
Dream enhancement: calea zacatechichi, blue lotus, mugwort
Cognitive: gotu kola, passion flower, ginko biloba
Stress: damiana, skullcap, chamomile, hibiscus
Mood/Depression: Lemon balm, motherwort, skullcap
Flavouring(5-10%): peppermint, chamomile, lavender, sage

You can infuse ipa with flavour herbs (or any herbs), especially those like lavender that can be harsh to smoke.
Skullcap, damiana and passionflower work well together.
Shouldn't forget Pau d'arco, but I'm not sure which category that would come in? Mood maybe?

Yes of course I will definitely do my research to make sure my combinations work together. I will probably not go over 3 to start with.

Of course! 😅 I will definitely get my hands on some of these and play around with different combinations.

Ahh, thanks for this! Nice to have all the info I need in one place. Looking at some of these herbs as we speak 😁🌸
