Marsofold (A/B) vs. Noman (straight-to-base)

Migrated topic.

My fairy's pet monkey is currently on an adventure in the jungle to acquire 1lb of powdered mhrb. The primate was told that this particular source supposedly has very high quality rootbark, and he is trying to decide which technique he should use to acquire the highest yield of spice. After spending hours reading thread after thread on various forums, it seems that Marsofold has the best technique of an acid/base extraction and Noman has the best technique of a straight to base extraction. I know this question has been beat to death and I am not trying to start another war between biased extractors, so I'm asking Noman and El Ka Bong to [i:499279afd5]please[/i:499279afd5] not reply to this thread (pm me with your opinion if you must). Instead, I'm asking for the opinions of people who have done [i:499279afd5]both[/i:499279afd5] the A/B and straight to base techniques with pre-powdered bark. Which tek produces a higher yield? After reading that some people claim to acquire over 7 grams of spice (from 1lb of bark) using a straight to base tek makes me think that a large portion of that HAS to be impurities. But at the same time, wouldn't freeze precipitation and a couple of recrystallizations surely get [i:499279afd5]all[/i:499279afd5] impurities out? If after you freezed/recrystallized a few times and the yield was still higher than an A/B, straight to base would definitely be the way to go, right? If there is anyone out there that has done both techniques with the same source of bark please let me know which worked out best for you. I tried telling the chimp that he should try both teks out himself to see which works best for him, but he hopes someone who has already done this could tell him so he didn't have to risk losing any precious alien dust.

Edgar,My pet Aardvark has done both teks from the same batch of rootbark and he yielded slightly more with the straight to base tek,but it was more yellowish.and after re-x it seemed to be almost the exact same as with the A/B tek.I say go with what works for you.My aardvark's A/B tek isn't exactly the same as Marsofold's.He really loves me this aardvark so he named it after me and called it the "Quantumtek" see teks. And don't confuse that with the QT's tek (Quantum Tantra's tek) My aardvark pulls more from a pound in 7 hours than Marsofold pulls from a pound in 2-3 days.Marsofold is a well respected and knowledgable extractor/psychonaut and I ain't knocking his tek.Maybe Edgar got lucky and got better rootbark.Next time Edgar orders rootbark I will ask him to try both teks side by side using the same batch of rootbark

Sorry, I just have to set the record straight here: 1 - Marsofold's tek is [i:c95a67f36b]not[/i:c95a67f36b] the procedure that El Ka Bong advocates 2 - I think that the Marsofold tek is perfectly fine and the best A/B out there. It's just a matter of preference. I'll shut up now.

I know El Ka Bong advocates the QT tek, which I have only heard terrible things about. I just added him in my post as an example, asking people who have not tried both techniques to not come in and bash the other. I agree with you that Marsofold probably has the best A/B out there. Chimpy was already planning on doing some of the things Edgar has come up with in addition to Marsofold's tek. He was told that hot water baths speed things up a little, and that using extra naptha then evaporating to half volume before freezing gives a chance for higher yield. I think I'll tell the ape that he should do the Marsofold tek for the first time. Of course he will still probably take 50g or so of the bark and do a quick straight to base so he can evolve a little while he's waiting on the rest. :D
