Very soon I'm likely going to have my first experience with MDMA. It's not going to be a party setting, just at home with my girlfriend. We plan on dosing about 100-120mg.

We both tend to have a lot of muscle tension from most psychedelics, particularly in the neck and jaw. I know that's going to be an unavoidable aspect of it, but we would like to do whatever is possible to make it bearable.

I've read about taking magnesium beforehand, but I've been unable to tell whether it actually makes a difference. Does anyone have experience with it?

My girlfriend has pregabalin prescribed and takes it daily. She was planning on taking a slightly larger dose to take advantage of its muscle relaxant effects. There don't seem to be any dangerous interactions, but I don't know if it may dull the experience. Has anyone taken MDMA together with pregabalin, gabapentin, phenibut, or something similar?

I think I've read most of the common advice (stay well hydrated without drinking too much, taking 5-HTP the day after, being mindful of bodily temperature, and of course avoiding any dangerous interaction), but any advice in general will be welcome.

Have an Advil on hand for the next day in case you do end up with a tension headache etc. MDMA can leave some with a good 1-2 day glow before the real come down, which you might avoid staying under 120 mg anyway. Still the glow is real nice but a next day headache can ruin it.

5htp never really helps me after MDMA. The best advice really is to keep the dose low, don’t re-dose, and don’t stay up all night missing sleep.

It combines well with ketamine.

Be sure you are hydrated well before going in to the experience. This is better imo vs trying to just drink lots during the trip.

I didn't buy it yet, and read some conflicting reports on it. Maybe I'll skip it this time and try it the next time if I have issues.

That seems to be the key from what I've read, yes.

I may try it in the future. I'm also interested to try adding 2C-B during the comedown. But I'll save any combination for the future, for the first time I want to experience MDMA by itself.

Will do!

Thanks for the link. I'm also wondering if DMT microdoses could help if I feel down for the next days. But I may not feel down at all, we'll see. Many people claim that most of the post MDMA depression is due to lack of sleep, alcohol, dehydration, etc. instead of MDMA itself, at least as long as the dose is not very high.

I don’t get depressed after mdma unless the dose is too high for me. When it does happen though it can feel pretty bad. I think for people with more trauma as well mdma really blows the heart open. For some people it’s just such a huge thing to feel that coming back to this place can feel unbearable as you feel raw and naked and open in a world that often requires the opposite. I don’t hear this take as often when people describe the mdma comedown but I feel it’s definitely a thing.

Congrats! I've never tried MDMA, but it's the only chem substance I'd consider taking. That heart-opening is the real deal, and I've met a few who benefited from it.
In general, I'd advise low caffeine consumption, because it's a diuretic. Taking a full-spectrum multivitamin a day or two before could help as well. For example, I have lots of stuff in my multi from the link @Jamie01 provided. Magnesium works for general relaxation, so it should be good. Just don't take too much, or it could lead to diarrhea.
I'm looking forward to your review. All the best with your session. Doing it in a home setting together with a loved one is a dream. Much love ❤️

Dance!
Eat well beforehand and drink the amount you would normally, if dancing and working up a sweat drink as much as you would during and after exercise.

I took a lot good amount of E's back in the day and I never had neck tension, what you need to address is the jaw clenching, chewing, lip licking / chewing. Lots of ip Balm and Chewing Gum if needed to occupy your mouth.

If you are planning a romantic evening, you won't be thinking about your jaw, neck or anything else apart from your partner, just expect to be doing things multiple times!

Focus in the sense of just perceiving it, trying to relax it gently, "breathing into" it...?
Little bit of everything, some gentle stretching, maybe even shaking of the head. In my case, most important is just to perceive it and not allow neck muscles to block themselves into high tension.
I had few occasions when failing to do this lead to nausea and vomiting.
